You are being modest. Good for the both of you. :)

Make sure he takes the PSAT next fall. If he scores high enough on that, he can be a National Merit Scholar and go to OU nearly free. (Actually, a lot of other places offer scholarships to National Merit, too.)

If he scores high enough on the PSAT (and "high enough" changes from year to year - it's statistically determined, not an absolute cutoff score) they'll want him to "verify" his score by taking the SAT.

Seriously, all he needs to do now is study vocabulary and maybe take the SAT and ACT just for practice taking those tests. He's about where I scored my first time taking the ACT, and I got up to a 35 by my senior year - it is completely about familiarity with the test format, not raw intelligence.

Congrats jkIII.

This dude at work's son got a 35 the first time he took the test. He didn't try for the perfect score because (as his dad put it) "He's too lazy." He went to math and science school his junior year, skipped his senior year and went to MIT on some sort of scholorship instead.

I felt lucky to get my 29. I suck at multiple choice tests. I'm pretty good at BSing through essay tests though.
