This kind of remark illustrates how far we (S.D.S.U. and many other wannabe football powers) have to go. The Aztecs would absolutely burst into tears and kiss the ground if we could consistenly go 8-5!!!

I know, I know....Oklahoma has different expectations. And deservedly so. After all, my first personal knowledge of the Sooner football team was when Bud Willkinson was HC. Or perhaps, in retrospect, I should say from Room 13 when I was in junior high school in 1954. In lunch time games, those kids were incredibly well organized, running a T-formation with at least a few plays that I later saw in books devoted to Oklahoma football!

Those were the days.
