ghey, ghey, ghey, ghey, GHEY.....

They are ranking those schools on the basis of NFL success versus college sucess. If we go by college success, OU has GOT to be on top.....

By Richard Cirminiello
Fiu version (just college production) QB U. | RB U. | WR U. | OL U.
Rich version (pro and college production) QB U. | RB U. | TE U. | OL U. | DL U. | LB U. | DB U. | Position U.

Fiutak's compilations are based on "college performance only" in this college football discussion.

Cirminiello (who compiled the D lists) weighs NFL success also....sorta like gauging the best high school players you've ever seen based on what they did after they left high school and played in college....for some reason some like to engage in this type of activity...even though it defeats the purpose of having a college football conversation in the first place.

Wow, NU really had some average white boys playing LB all those years.

How is Texas ahead of us at RB? Tell me that. What are they thinking? We have 2 Heisman winners at RB (since 1970), they have 2 Heismans. But, we have AD, Q, Pruitt and Washington. The only other legit back Texas has is Benson.

PSU is definitely linebacker U.

OU is third, maybe second.

Overall, Oklahoma linebackers haven’t been a hit in the pros, stifling any further upward mobility in this category. Files, Shipp and Cumby were first-round disappointments, and Pro Bowls have been non-existent for the ensemble.

yeh cuz all the rest of the schools save one had multiple household names.....freaking morons. i thought this article would favor us quite a bit. guess not.

i hate people that base a college or college players ranking on how they do in the pros. it makes no sense. look at the heisman winners that did nothing in the pros and tell me they werent the top of the college game at their time?? danny wuerfell, chris weinke, eric crouch, rasham salaam(sp) gino toretta. when they won it they dominated (with the exception of weinke against us). because they sucked it up in the pros means they werent great in college? it means that their school shouldnt be considered for their college accomplishments? give me a break.

I think we were pretty good in 85 and 86, if I remember correctly. I mean we had the Boz and Dante Jones, not to mention Ricky Dixon, etc... The next great OU defense was 2000 through 2001. Those teams were good. Granted, I was only 1 in 1985, but I think they were better than 2000.
