Just some thoughts...
--Although Texas lost a disappointing series to Nebraska this weekend to lose the conference lead, I still think Texas will win the conference in the end. Of the other five top teams in the conference, Texas has played four of them with the last (Kansas) coming at home. Texas' last three conference series are Texas A&M (1 home, 2 road), Kansas (3 home), and Missouri (3 road). Nebraska still has to go to Stillwater (where they are 19-2 this year), play OU in Lincoln, and go to Waco.

--OU's got an outside shot of getting a top 8 national seed now. Their overall record and RPI certainly warrants it, but being third in the conference won't get them there. I'd say OU will have to bank on either Texas collapsing against the bottom of the conference or winning 2 of 3 in Lincoln, which would likely propel the Sooners ahead of NU. If OU finishes top 2 in the conference, I'd even go as far to say that they may even be a lock for a top 8 national seed.

--Texas, OU, and Nebraska are the only three teams definitely in regionals. Kansas, Baylor, and OSU are on the bubble. Everybody else is probably done for barring a huge run.

--There is pretty much no way A&M can possibly make it to the Big 12 Tournament. This coming after a 13-2 start and a series win on the road at then #5 Florida.

Crimson glasses are on. OU is on fire. UT has been on fire and dropping a tough series to NU wont douse those flames much. Golloway has these guys doin things I havent seen in recent years. They are believing in small ball, and are solid definsively. On top of that, they arent scared being down in the 8th-9th innings.

makes ya proud to be a Sooner!

Nice job ATH. I think it could be any of the 3 teams really. I think Texas could win the conference but it's not like it's likely. Any of those top 3 teams could win it. The Sooners are playing better then any of the 3 teams right now. Tonights game may be bit of a bad spot though.

OU's playing well, but Nebraska seems to be the best conference team to me. Great pitching and defense and a proven closer (all things Texas doesn't have this year).

What if our Sooners win or finish 2nd in the Conf. tournament?? Will that to the trick?

As always, thanks for your updates. Great job.

I don't know about the conference tourney. I've never been completely sold on it helping teams that much. In 2003, Texas had a high RPI (top 10), finished third in the Big 12 regular season, and won the conference tourney, and still didn't get a top eight seed. But of course, the entire Big 12 got screwed that season and NOBODY got a top 8 seed.

RosenblattReport has OU has the #8 national seed this week. So that pretty much proves that OU is right in the thick of things. If they do get a top 8 seed, I could easily see them getting on to Omaha.

how much harder would it be if the didnt get a national seed, that would mean that OU would be on the road for a super regional correct.

Correct.
