I love Flagstaff but I sure do miss Oklahoma. The Football and the people.
I have seriously been thinking about this lately, even had a bad dream about it.
Discuss and advise.

I want to go back really bad. I think I'll move to north texas for a residence and live in Okla so I won't have to deal with the income tax.

I need reasons, Doc.

I'll miss the Mountain and the pine trees.

If you live in OK and work in TX you still have to pay OK income tax

if you had a dream about it, that means you are supposed to move back. But the dream was bad, I didn't want to leave.
In the '80's in Oklahoma all I could think about was Arizona.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking

And please, no smartass suggest that I move halfway, Santa Rosa, NM.

yeah, trust him on this one..
It happened to me as well.
I lived in Oklahoma and worked in kansas and went three years before Oklahoma informed me of my stupidity to the tune of 4 grand.

football season is 7 home games a year at best.

I only applied to three colleges, OU, NSU, and Northern Arizona, the last one just because I liked Flagstaff so much. I moved away from Oklahoma for almost 15 years, but I'm glad I'm back.

If you have family in Oklahoma, that'd tip the scales. Otherwise, spend a week in August in Oklahoma--if you can tolerate the weather and humidity for that week, you are probably meant to go back.

If all else fails, flip a coin. Seriously. I'm made quite a few important life decisions based on a coin flip, and they've all worked out well!

OK here is my decision.

I will hang in Flag for a while and visit The Sooner State in the fall. Everyone rag me to come in the fall. I plan to every year, but have you ever been to Flagstaff in the fall? It is damn nice. Aspens and such.

Reasons:
The people.
I can drive to Norman in 30 minutes. I could go right now if I wanted and be back by dinner. :)
The weather actually changes. Frequently.
Low cost of living.
My family lives here.
You get OU football/basketball/baseball games televised/on radio, coaches shows, local TV and newspaper coverage.

Never been to Flagstaff so I don't know what that city's like.

Anyone who thinks OK has a humidity problem needs to spend a little time in SEC country. When we lived in lower Alabama, we just took the clothes out of the washer and put them on from April 'til November -- because it didn't matter.;)

Best reason to comeback home to Oklahoma?...the people! Seriously. Greatest folks evar.

It's miserable.

During the fence thing, it was only in the low 80's, but the humidity killed me.
Torture. TORTURE!!!

Right after Katrina, that was pure misery, no electricity, no water,
highs in the mid 90's, and humidity of 144%

Gallup is the armpit of the world.:DThat is so true. The hubby and I stayed there on our way to the Rose Bowl. We vowed to never do that again! The next time we play in the Rose Bowl, we plan to stay in Albuquerque and then Flagstaff on our way.

Flag, if you are happy there then you should stay. You could come and visit. My husband and I stayed in Oklahoma soley because of family and then almost everyone but two of our own kids have moved away to greener pastures. :D

Now we're here going broke because the economy and population cant support as many dentists as OU is graduating. We have 10 right here in this little town. I love Oklahoma but believe me, if we had the money to move I would be calling Mayflower in a heartbeat. :)
