yeah, i don't understand that. it's not like Eddie hasn't had any more severe brushes with breaking the rules. and this has nothing to do with his alchoholism--which i won't criticize him for. but, just plain cheating at UK.

wasn't like he rolled into Stillwater as a saint 12 years ago or whatever.

I am tired of media members who can't believe that people would want Sampson to leave, then rip OU for cheating under Sampson. What??? Make up your mind. If things were so bad under Sampson, then media people shold be glad he is gone.

Nolen: Great point. In fact, Boren and Castiglione missed the boat. They should have brought that up to the NCAA infractions committee.

Is it better to be too intoxicated to drive, hit a
lady 3 times, and put people in danger ,or make too
many phone calls to recruits. your articles suggest
the first.

I'm sure Tramel is sooooo disappointed that all the players in question are probably going to go elsewhere and he's lost four years worth of whiney articles.

Eddie is such the saint that he allowed his own son to try and pass a test for a high profile UK player.

Whatever breaks the media gives :eddie: I will not defend. If you or I pulled that we'd be on trial right now.

But the article on recruiting by Sampson's staff is right. You can disagree with NCAA rules, but if you're caught breaking them, you reap what you sow. Does OU bear responsibility? Unfortunately, yes, as their employee did the deed while acting as their employee. As a fan, that sucks, but it's the reality.

Kelvin Sampson's attitude toward the infractions has been less than impressive, blaming those who turned him in, and acting like he was just "outworking" the other guy. Own up to it.

I think the whole gist of the original post was to point out the disparity in media coverage of the Sutton problems with obeying certain state laws and his numerous NCAA violations and the way they are now writing about the Sampson phone calls/t-shirts rules infringements.

Which is worse in your eyes? We all know Sampson broke some rules... he's even admitted it. I don't blame him for taking a stab at Eddie now that he doesn't have to play against him twice a year either. Hoosiers won't care if he talks smack on OSU.
