Nice stuff. Gehry is the shiznit. Tiffany, while a little overpriced, is a good jewelry investment.

You should rob a bank and go buy some T&Co/Gehry stuff. :texan:

i didnt' even see prices on their site--it's not available online until this summer. but i'm guessing it's more than i can afford.

I agree, some of their jewelry is really overpriced (some of it is pretty reasonable) but i think it's almost worth it. I mean, you could get the same sort of thing somewhere else, but i think the Tiffany designs are really exceptional.

There are some pieces from Tiffany's that i really love, but there are also some i don't care for at all.

am I the only one that thinks that Gehry isn't that great of a designer? He designs some crazy ****, but to me, the real art is how he gets people to pay him to:
1) pile up wet cardboard, scan it with a 3 dimensional scanner to make drawings and call it a masterpiece.
2) use high end finishes like chain link fence, plywood, etc... and get people to pay top dollar for it.

Don't get me wrong, he designs some crazy ****. I guess I'm just more analytical so I enjoy stuff like Calatrava and Gropius.

ok, I partially take back my statement above. He definitely has a lot of awesome projects, but man, I hate his stuff that's in the style of the Venice beach house.

I agree with you Andy. I like his stuff, but wow does he ever get overpaid.

there was a funny thing in the Onion a few years ago about "Frank Gehry packs his kids' lunch" and a couple pics of quartered sandwiches packed sideways at ascending angles and whatever.

I like this building of his

But IMO he can't sit at IM Pei's drafting table. This is my favorite building, evar.

that first pic is kind of a Gaudi thing. i see IM Pei's NCAR almost every day. after 10 years it blows me away. from all kinds of places across town. it's really canny. i can't find a GIS pic that does it justice.

Hmm, Fountain Place is where slickwife will be working, hopefully, this summer.
It's an interesting building.
