Playa has 50 rooms, Casa has 88. I'd go with Casa, b/c the more rooms you have, the more ameneties -- usually.

Never stayed in Cozumel though, just stopped over on cruise ships.

Well casa is in town. playa is right on the beach. i think playa has more amenities, actually.

It's hotter than hell down there. Last time I went with my buds, we got to Cozumel around 10:00 a.m. and hit the bars. I was sweating like crazy. Maybe the fact we'd been boozin' it up since 5 a.m. had more to do with the sweat.

When I say I've done it all, I refer to a pre-flight cocktail at 5 a.m. in the airport waiting area. A flask of rum and a coke from the vending machine since none of the shops in the airport are open. They wouldn't let us take our booze on the plane so there was no choice but to polish off the rum before boarding.

I've had 3 different patients go on cruises that stopped in Cozumel in the last month. They have all said it was terrible. The the hurricanes destroyed it and there really wasn't anything to see or do. I think one even said that the national park area was still closed???

I hope they were wrong because I loved it when I was there a couple of years ago. I also hope they were wrong because I want you to have a good time.
There is a ferry that goes back and forth to Playa del Carmen. So if it is too bad you could always just move over there.

Well there is still a lot to do there if you have never been. Sunday is the big day to do touristy stuff and I know we are going to see some ruins that day. Other days I'm snorkeling and doing wedding stuff.

There's also a "non touristy" part of the island where people on cruise ships don't go. I think we're gonna check that out.
