many tribes hold a 3 day wake in their homes. I had an Osage friend from high school who was kept in his parents home 3 days prior to the funeral and burial.
you would not believe the amount of people who visit the families in those times.

no no, i was referring to the DOD policy of even allowing photographs of flag covered coffins....
i understand the cultural rituals....just odd to see it publicized......but i think its a good thing, people need to see that

very moving. The eagle feathers, the war bonnet worn by the chief, and the traditions are so meaningful in the rituals. Thanks for the link.
