2008 Challenger
I haven't decided if I REALLY like it or not. Maybe in another color? I do like the 600 hp two door idea though. :D

Not exactly identical, but similar. Especially with the recessed headlight/grill look. If you GIS Camaro Concept there's another that looks a bit cooler IMO.

yep, me too

i wonder how small it is

the new Mustang looks pretty retro, but is a lot smaller than the original

the GTO is surprisingly small as well

Pretty much. I dig the throwback look, but they need to make sure they don't throw back to the same design.

it looks more like an old Camaro than the new one, at least the pictures i've seen

And at 3mpg, you'll be driving to the gas station and back in no time! :)

Eh maybe not but get this-the biggest vehicle Ford motor company makes-the Town Car gets better mileage these days than the smallest Car they made in the 70's...the pinto.
Just food for thought. Also the Challengers engine is a v8 but when not being run at wide open throttle the back two cylinders shut down(injectors turn off at a certain rpm)that and the fact that it will have a production 6 speed transmission+not bad economy.

The big three almost always low ball the economy on their autos due in part to the actual economy after break in of the engine, so you may not really see
the savings until the engine reaches it until 100,00 miles..which nobody ever
reaches thanks to trading in their rides anymore.
That and your actual rated horsepower is always on the conservative side compared to what the honest rating actually is.
Case in point, I believe Ford still rates the engines power at the crankshaft whereas if you measure it at the rear wheels(after you are in the tallest gear)gives you a much higher reading.
GM and Dodge always measure at the rear wheels so when they say 600hp, it is more like 630hp.

Anyway, excuse me...I just got up from a nap and i'm just rambling now.
Carry on.

Horsepower numbers are higher at the crank than at the wheels - frictional losses in the transmission and differential. The torque will definitely be higher at the wheels in the lower gears - simply a multiplication by the drive ratio minus the frictional losses.

As per SAE specifications, all manufacturers report horsepower at the crank.

I loved it when they reintroduced the HEMI. They said that with the advances in engineering techniques it gets almost four times the mileage of the original.

OH BOY!! That means it now gets almost 12 miles per gallon. And with the advances in underwriting techniques have fun when you call GEICO.
