As you may know, on May 1st, a large nationwide boycott is being planned by Mexicans both legal and illegal; plus those sympathetic to their cause. The plan is to not work, to not go to school, to not purchase from U.S. businesses to show the financial loss to the U.S. economy, thus showing the "power" these several million have to Congress and our Government.

It is the purpose of this E-mail to rally America to negate these proposed "losses" by doing all of our purchases on that day, May 1st. Go to work, go to school, and hire LEGAL U.S. citizens to do the work these protesters would have done. So, put off buying gas, food, and any purchases or hired workers until May 1st if at all possible. Do your own lawn, sweep your own driveway, wash your own dishes, clean your own house or business, or hire a legal American citizen to do it. It's time for America to wake up and send a message of our own to those who think they have the power to change our country to suit their needs and wants. Majority rules, and makes the rules. We just want the rules followed...by everyone! It's time again for the "Silent Majority" to be silent no longer. NEGATE THE BOYCOTT ON MAY 1, 2006. "E Pluribus Unum".

I employ 2 Hispanics in my office who are US citizens. They don't support this illegal-immigration rights bull because they consider themselves Americans and think immigrants need to follow the rules. They also think all of the protests and demands by the illegals are hurting all Hispanic-Americans by creating resentment among other groups. I agree.

The US Constitution applies to US citizens....not illegal immigrants.

Let them boycott. When the truck they're riding in rolls over and 17 of them need to go to the ER , we will see how strong their resolve is to not support US Hospitals. :les:

It's not like they're going anywhere, so any groceries or gas or anything they were going to buy on the 1st, they'll buy April 30th or May 2nd.

My wife is Hispanic, but is 2nd generation American born. Her family and her are embarassed and angrier about this crap than we could ever be.

There is a Romanian dude where I work who is here legally. He has spent thousands of dollars trying to do things the right way, jumping through all the hoops, taking English classes, etc., and he is pretty bummed out that these people that ignore all the laws and don't even try to assimilate into American society will most likely be citizens long before him.

Racism my ***. The "racism" whistle is being blown because it makes white people feel guilty, and since white people still make up the majority of actual American citizens, the illegal aliens and their supporters hope to leverage that guilt into achieving their goals.

Is it Joe Public's fault that Mexico is full of nonwhite people? What if the problem was coming from Canada instead? Would it be different? Race is a red herring here, not a real issue.

It didn't take long for that card to be played.

Didn't take long for that card to be played either...

My experience in 'bordertowns' (predominantly white towns located just off reservations) suggests that veiled racism and prejudice is still around; it may not be as obvious and overtly malicious as in times past, but if you experience it, you know.

Nowadays, it seems like whenever a situation has the *potential* to be influenced by race, someone has to immediately label that aspect a 'card to be played', which marginalizes it and implies that it does not happen anymore.

Isn't it a two way street? When illegals get over here they are willing to do anything to survive. That has evolved into mowing grass, and scooping out horse stalls for minimum wage. Are the wealthy white Americans at fault for hiring them? Did we not add to the problem. Fellow legals, I emplore you.

My response: They are simply doing what American companies have done since before the Revolutionary War.. they are making a profit by having something in demand. I have a hard time "boycotting" a company because they are too successful.

If the men are coming here to work so that they can send money back home to Mexico to take care of their families I am totally cool with that. I spent two weeks in central America and have seen with my own two eyes the poverty that these people come from. Their kids barely have any clothes on, they have hardly any food, and about five families live in shacks that we wouldn't consider fit to put most of our pets in. How about if these people want to become citizens make them do a mandatory 3 year military service with one year being devoted to learning English ?

Just a thought...maybe a bad one

Mandatory military service for poor, non-white people will never fly in this country.

I believe it would also damage the quality of our forces.

Ok, the crappy "revolucion" is what, 80 years old now? When will the amigos and amigas wise up and demand a new government down there? Don't they have any pride? You'd think a normal human being would be so ashamed of having MILLIONS of his people going away, but Vicente, and whatever scumbag comes after him, say's "No mistreato mio peopleo"...or whatever.

Nobody had any beef with illegals, Mexican or otherwise, until it started hurting the pocketbook. There are so many illegals now that hospitals, ranchers, public schools and other business people are footing the bill for the illegals who reap our benefits (free E.R. care, public education, etc.) while trashing property and not paying taxes.

IMO the majority of illegals are honest, hardworking people looking for a better life. If they are willing to work that hard and stay out of trouble, they deserve a shot at being in America. However, they must do it the right way and follow the procedures.

Any naturalized citizen or legal immigrant should be upset about the free reign given illegals these days. It would be like making some doctors go to medical school at an enormous cost and letters other doctors clep out. Those who have paid the price don't want to see others skate by.

Coro:
!Y desplegará su hermosura estrellada,
Sobre tierra de libres, la bandera sagrada!

My lawn is mowed by an American citizen who decided that, even though he didn't go to college, he could make a decent living by working his butt off.

Plenty of fireman out there to cut your grass.

theres a big problem with the whole picture. A one day boycott will accomplish nothing at all. those that would participate in the boycott would spend their may 1 money on april 30 or may 2, at the same places that they would have spent their moneoy on may 1. likewise a counter boycott will have no effect because instead of spending your money on april 30 or may 2, you'll go ahead and spend it on may 1.

the whole thing, on both sides, is just a bunch of saber rattling that will have no real effect on anyone anywhere.
