Dear Mr. Graffiti Artist, grow some balls and buy a canvas.

Yours truly,

IMHO, if he's willing to suffer the consequences for his act of "civil disobedience" and even go to jail in advancing his beliefs, I'm cool.

If he tries to plead he has some nefarious "right" to vandalize a very expensive piece of OUR property and thus somehow avoid a conviction, then I hope he rots in some "federal-pound-you-in-the-a$$-prison."

I guess everybody has their own way of getting off.

nice to know Air Force One is safe...

although that could be an older one or something? i would think the one the President actually uses would have snipers around it and ****

i can sorta see where he's coming from though, shouldn't cops be busting drug dealers or something? busting a kid for carrying a marker is pretty lame

You know, I'm wondering what happened to all those on guard duty that night? Quick orders to Greenland or something? Would this be an administrative punishment type of thing, dereliction of duty? In the Coast Guard, I would see this being handled at Captain's Mast or something like that. If not actionable, I'm sure the Boatswain Hole would be used to "re-train" those people...

That isn't civil disobedience -- that's self-promotion.

The dude involved is some nutjob urban promoter -- he even has a PS2 game based on tagging.

Hell, maybe Bush gave him a pass to tag the plane. Surely he wouldn't turn down a chance to help a corporation make a buck? :D

The tail numbers for the two 747-200B's the President flies on are 28000 and 29000. The video cuts away every time the camera pans towards the tail. hmmmmm.

I suspect that the plane he vandalized is one of the mothballed planes.

I'm pretty sure it was Hong Kong.

I don't think they would light up a mothballed one like that... but I didn't think there were any mothballed 747's yet...

i was going to say, isn't it possible he tagged some other plane and they photoshopped it to look like airforce one?

If it was an active plane, I am still concerned. Those planes are in restricted areas (unless it was mothballed). That he put grafitti on the plane is the least offensive thing he could have put on that plane.

Not reeeeally the least offensive so much. It would have been even less offensive if he had pasted up a giant picture of Jessica Alba and Halle Berry taking a shower together.

if they were any good with editing, i think i'll they'd need is footage of the plane and a guy jumping over a fence somewhere. he probably didnt' even spraypaint a plane.

There's no way a guy could get close enough to tag AF1. And no there aren't any mothballed 747s although there are two of them in active service as AF1 and if this kind of thing did happen then I imagine it would happen to whichever plane wasn't in current use.

But they post guards with bomb sniffing dogs around that plane 24/7. They don't just leave it out on the tarmac and go home.

I bet the producers of "Malibu's Most Wanted" have this guy in mind for a sequel.

Hoax. (http://www.snopes.com/photos/airplane/tagging.asp)

I thought the plane might have been one of the two that the current 747's replaced a few years ago.

Actually, I think it is Hong Kong! ;)

It turns out, the USAF thought it was real and actually did an investigation. The website, stillfree.com (which is what they spray painted) paid to paint a 747 like AF1 and did the production in a hanger. Everyone who worked on it had to keep it confidential. Crazy though. Probably cost a fortune to do this!
