Right now I'm leaning towards Sapporo if I can get a hold of some, if not that Boulveard or Olympia.

Try something new then switch back to your old stand-by.

Billy Carter, exploiting his relationship to President Jimmy Carter, commended the fine qualities of Billy Beer. His smiling face appears on the carton from a twelve pack. The back of the carton reads: Brewed expressly for and with the personal approval of one of America's all-time great beer drinkers - Billy Carter.

My grandfather used to drink that beer back in the day.

My grandparents had a few cans in the cupboard forever. They may still be there. I bet they're worth millions.

Thanks Al! :D

I almost bought some of that earlier. Instead I went with
http://pages.infinit.net/andreroy/TripelKarmeliet.jpg
and
http://home.mn.rr.com/artisanal/samaranth_label.jpg

The results? I havent tried the Tripel yet, but the Urthel is 11.5% alcohol by volume. Wow. I'm buzzing from ONe of these. By contrast, last night I barely felt my three scotches and three limoncellos. good beer.

Oh, but the Tripel Karmeliet is VERY highly rated by the snobs at RateBeer.com - a 98 percentile. The Urthel Samaranth only gets an 86 out of them.

As a guide, if you're looking to find Bud Light on their site, click on their "50 worst beers" list and check #48. Michelob Ultra weighs in at seventh worst.

Another aside: The only one of RateBeer.com's 50 best beers in the world that I've seen in Oklahoma?

In some states, the only place you can get beer that good is on a military base (where state alcohol laws do not apply). Hence, the popularity of homebrewing.

I can make a Pale Ale that Sierra Nevada drinkers would love to try.

I had that last night. What a sweet bottle of flavorful goodness that was. Pours very dark. Alcohol aftertaste was evident. Very drinkable, more sweet than hoppy. Good times.

I don't know a lot about wine, other than I drink what I like. But beer on the other hand. I don't need some guide telling me what is good. :twinkies:
