New Orleans being a mostly Catholic town, many people are off, including, I think, state and city workers (I know, "city workers" = oxymoron). We federalistos are usually NOT off, but for some reason the Chief Judge gave us the Good Friday off this year. Nonetheless, being dedicated to YOU the Amercan taxpayer, I am working diligently today keeping bad guys in jail and protecting the Constitutional rights of all. You are welcome!

Of course, I do get a compensatory day off later. :)

Present. We don't get a paid holiday. However, if I could have I'd have taken annual leave today. I just haven't been in this job long enough and, heh heh, I don't have any.

Someone once told me that some carpenters's union rules (Christian ones, anyway) forbid work on Good Friday. They will not drive nails on the day that the Great Carpenter was nailed to the cross. Anybody know if that's true?

Mrs. TU is off, too. Yesterday I told her, "I dont really HAVE to work Friday, maybe I'll just stay home with you and the girls."
She told me to go to work.
