I have wanted to say that for a long time. I have never understood why people get so excited about watermelon. Cantelupe is way better as well as honeydew when it comes to melon.

Older folks like it because growing up they didn't have candy and soda every day like kids do now.

In prison watermelons and cantelopes can be decent substitutes for conjugal visits.

Are you KIDDING me?

You, my friend, must have never had the exquisite pleasure of eating the heart out of a St. Libory watermelon.

And cantalopes are the succ. Of course, my being allergic to them doesn't help.

Cantalope is my fave, but watermelon is a close 2nd.

Albertson's has their cantelope on sale for $1 each, I bought 4 last night :O

Cantalope with a dash of salt.

Watermelon with a dash of salt, come to think of it.

I guess most any gourd is better with salt.

Cantalope is shat...and honeydew melons are waaaayyyyyy worse.

Watermelon with a little salt sprinkled on it qualifies as a little slice of heaven here on earth.

Watermellon is just fine, especially on a hot day.

I prefer fruit juice from a bottle. It's just easier to mix with vodka.

I have heard tell of people spiking a watermelon by boring a small hole in one side and pouring in a liter of vodka.

In any case, isn't it odd that watermelon tastes best with a dash of salt, and canteloupe tastes best with a dash of pepper?

I prefer my melons unmolested.

Watermelon is okay, but it's a pain in the *** to eat, with all the seeds and the juice and whatnot. I don't bother much anymore.

Watermelon flavored candy or gum sucks.

I love watermelon. I hate the fact that if you buy a whole one with a real short stem that you're taking a chance on getting a bad one though. That happened to me last week. It was way over ripe. I guess I should have known better than to buy one this time of year.

and on a side note, my uncle used to be a watermelon farmer. so it's very possible that if you buy watermelons in oklahoma...or used to... you might have eaten one of his.

There is nothing worse than the smell of rotten watermelon. Nothing.

We had a 1st year medical student following us around for a month last year, and he was originally from Korea. He had his parents ship him some dried squid (their version of beef jerky, I guess).

When he opened that box in our office, the odors that proceded outta there could've put Chuck Norris down for the count!

Not only did it have the distinct odor of vaginal discharge from a "lady" with trichomonas (Flagyl sprinkles in room 3, please, nurse Ratchet)... but it was so acrid that it burned every hair outta my nostrils.

Rotten watermelons are a walk in the park.

Rotten watermelons are a walk in the park.

Late July. North Texas. My sister leaves the door ajar on a freezer full of meat in the garage right before we leave for a two-week vacation. Even that smelled better than rotten watermelon.

I think it's the sickly sweet smell that really gets to me. I've only smelled that smell once in my life, and it will stay with me forever.

when i was a kid i had a bad habit of eating the seeds along with the watermelon. my dad broke me of that habit though when i woke up one morning with him standing over me looking shocked, and two giant watermelons were laying next to my ears.

for a minute, i really believed eating seeds did make melons grow outta your ears. it's not true though. you can trust me.
