Could he return for another year if he wanted to.?? I wasn't sure if the shoulder year could be a medical hardship or not.

I'm pretty sure he played too many games in 03-04 to be eligible for that but he is going to concentrate on discus and shot put now. That and possibly will grow some dreads.

It would be awesome if Book could and would apply for the med red.

The guy played 13 games in 03-04. The only way he's getting a hardship is if he was down at O'Connells with Dusty.

I think you have to play atleast half the season in basketball, unlike the 1/3 or 1/4 rule in football. I don't know for sure but I thought it was clarified in the past that he was elgible to request it but that he wanted to focus on making the Olympics. Since it looks like '08 is a long shot I don't think immediate training is as high a priority?

I think he will be aided by the fact that he was injured in multiple seasons.
