If you could have lunch with any Sooner past or present who would it be and why?

I would pick Derek Strait. Even though is not a super star in the NFL, he is still a tremendous athlete. He raised himself up out of horrible circumstances and into a top college, which allowed him to play at football's highest level. He is a hero in my eyes and I only hope young athletes will fallow his example. Much respect to his mother for sticking through the hard times so her son would be able to live a better life.

Also Benny Owen, Why? because he is the greatest Sooner coach of all time.

Hook 'em

Who would you pick?

This is not limited to football.

Bud Wilkinson wasn't too bad of a coach

Benny coached football and baseball and was amazing at both. Bud is the man too.

For some reason I'm thinking Billy Simms would be fun. Other than that, Heupel.

How many times would he yell 'Boomer' at you before you asked for the check?

Heupel would be cool. I dont know if I would want to eat with White. He seems like he might eat like a slob. He might be cool though, I will NEVER know.

Jason White (despite your hatred for not winning his own title) was always classy and quite a comedian the three times I remember actually talking to him. I know I'll get flamed for it, but the #18 Heisman always meant something to me, to get all those nuts and bolts removed from his ailing body, and still pick up the Heisman, and being a finalist the following year was cool too.

jw was a great Sooner, he was an awesome qb that had to deal with more anguish than a football player should go thru in a college career. jw will always be one of my favorite Sooners

Bob Latham! Great guy to hang out with. VERY humble and comes from a great family. But I played high school football with him, so I will go with Joe Washington, Greg Pruitt, Joe Wylie, or Leon Crosswhite. I loved that era of OU football.

I was fortunate to get to know quite a few players during the late 70's & mid 80's. One I didn't get to know but would like to currently is Steve Davis. He is one of my all-time favorites.

Another player that I did know well and miss dearly is Dave Overstreet. He was a great athlete and gentleman. I do wish we could visit one more time.

It's amazing how few Sooners know how to spell Billy Sims' name, or Graig Nettles', for that matter.
