There's not much predictable, but I knew when the two collections guys were shaking down the bartender, they were going to run into Vito. You could see that one coming.

Also, was that the first time we've seen Vito as a married man w/ kids??

I thought fer sure somebody was gonna get popped at the wedding. And those old ladies sitting at the table with Johnny Sack and T - great stuff.

What was up with T bustin' heads on his driver?

But did Vito whack himself?

Mrs Homey thinks T paid the driver to take the beating. Even if not, T had to re-assert his dominance as the Alpha crook. I guess its like in prison when conventional wisdom says you bust the toughest guy in the yard to put all the other cons on notice you ain't gonna be nobody's beyotch.

Oh yeah, did you catch Anthony Jrs g/f at the reception stating the she didn't eat fish "because of the toxins" while taking a drag off her Marlboro 100?:D

Also, Paulie had "mother" inked out on his tat.

Vito's a runner. Were the two mafia guys in the gay bar NY or NJ guys?

Tony was looking at who had the biggest muscles so he could reassert that he wasn't weak. (People only believe what we let them believe) He didn't pay off anyone -- the kid isn't made and knew that if he really went after Tony, he was a dead man.

They better not kill off Frankie Valli.

I'm shocked that Phil openly badmouthed Johnny so badly about crying. Makes me wonder if Phil presented Rusty to Johnny as a threat to Johnny's reign -- when Rusty is actually a threat to Phil's eventual reign.

"Allegra? Isn't that the cold medicine?"
"It means happiness in Italian."
"What the **** does that have to do with cold medicine!?"

Heh. Good catch on the Paulie tattoo. I didn't notice that. I did chuckle at the "toxins" remark while she blowed smoke off into the air.

I think Vito was actually getting ready to whack somebody else - if ya know what I mean.

Since they didn't show him killing himself, maybe he just disappeared. Silvio said he'd talked to him "a couple" of nights prior. If he shot himself in the hotel room, the maids would have found him, no? Maybe he's disappeared to San Francisco or some place.

That motorcycle outfit he had on in the gay joint was classic Sopranos. Remember the wierd stuff that kept coming out about Ralphie before he was offed? The g/f that kept complaining to T that he wouldn't have regular sex with her. I remember her telling T "You won't believe it - last night he came in wearing a leather mask."

T was showing reluctance to bust heads in this episode. He was hesitant to do NY's dirty work, he stopped the driver when the guy was gonna bust the truck driver, and when he carried out the whipping on the driver, he went and threw up in the bathroom. Almost like he doesn't have the stomach for it any more. He's thinking grandkids and everything.

Another great episode.

I'm old and stuff so I go back a ways...essentially the entire history of television;) . Within this particular genre which also happens to be my favorite, there have been three dramatic series I class together as the best things evar on the American tube. They are, Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere and The Sopranos. Honorable mention: ER (first two seasons -- before it "jumped the shark") and Miami Vice.

Nice catch on that one. Italian boys love their mommas, that whole situation really effed Paulie over.

I was waiting for someone to hit Johnny Sac up for a favor on his daughter's wedding day, I love the Godfather references.

No way did Tony pay his driver to take a dive, he had to show he's still the big dog.

i wouldn't put to much stock into tony throwing up meaning he didn't have the stomach for it. Think it speaks more to his condition after his surgery because if you look at what he thought about what he had just done between pukes....he looked pretty happy.

Vito called Sil in an attempt to find out if Sil knew anything so I bet those guys he ran into were boys from his family...and aint no way Vito is dead (at this point)

p.s. Finn is breathing a sigh of relief about now.

Odds on Vito being the first one whacked per this site is 6 to 1

http://www.gambling911.com/030506Bnews.html

Sopranos: Bookie says gay Vito's sexuality makes him prime candidate to be whacked

One of Gambling911.com's premiere sportsbooks when it comes to offering entertainment betting odds, PinnacleSports.com (See Web Site Here) has created odds on 18 regular characters of "The Sopranos" being the first to be killed off in the upcoming season. Soprano family soldier Vito Spatafore is the early favorite to be the first character rubbed out at 6/1 odds (i.e., win $6 for every $1 bet).
"No other successful television program produces the suspense of "The Sopranos," where fans constantly speculate who'll be the next to 'sleep with the fishes,'" said Simon Noble of PinnacleSports.com, an online betting site that allows gamblers to bet online using their credit card, eCheck or other popular online funding methods. "It's rumored that Vito gets whacked while out of town on business; whether that's for his past sexual relations with another man or for a new beef is unknown.
Last year, Vito's sexual digressions became known when Meadow Sopranos boyfriend unwittingly stumbled upon him receiving oral sex by a male security in a parked vehicle. Vito's interests soon turned to Meadow's boyfriend, Finn. The irony of this all being that Vito was responsible for whacking Meadow's first boyfriend. No online sportsbook lists Finn among those likely to be whacked first this season.
Vito Spatafore (played by actor Joe Gannascoli), scion of the Spatafore Construction family and cousin of the Apriles, is a member of the late Ralph Cifaretto's crew. That crew has seen a variety of capos come and go in the last few years - before Ralph it was Gigi Cestone, and before Gigi it was Richie Aprile - and Vito was loyal to all of them. Relatively mellow for a made man, Vito rarely loses his temper, even when his sizable girth is the subject of his comrades' jokes.

But it would be a mistake to underestimate Vito's capabilities; he couldn't survive as a soldier for so many years if he wasn't willing to step up. When his little brother, Bryan, was put in a coma by a head case named Mustang Sally, Vito spoke directly to Tony and made his point clear: "I want this ********** to bleed from his ***." And, when Ralph ordered the hit on Jackie Aprile, Jr., it was Vito who fired a bullet into the back of his own cousin's head.

Vito's proclivities of the not-so-wise-guy sort is a first for the hardcore mobster series.

"It adds a lot of depth to the character," actor Joseph Gannascoli, who plays the newly outed mobster, said.

In the real mob, being gay can add real depth -- about 6 feet underground.

Vincent (Vinny Ocean) Palermo, former boss of New Jersey's DeCalvacante family, said to be the model for "The Sopranos," testified shortly after the episode aired that gay gangsters are in fact killed.

"What's the rule . . . about this?" federal prosecutor John Hillebrecht asked the mob turncoat on Wednesday.

"You die," Palermo replied.

That was the punishment meted out to DeCalvacante wise guy John D'Amato in 1992, whom Palermo ordered whacked after being told his underling had rendezvoused with another man at a swingers club.

Over lunch at a Brooklyn restaurant, Gannascoli took pains to point out he is not gay -- adding just as quickly, "Not that there is anything wrong with it. My problem is, I love women," he said.

Gannascoli did say he relished the challenge of playing a homosexual. "It was my idea many years ago to have my character be gay, having read and known about gay wise guys," he said. "I want to be effeminate but knockaround."

Still, Tony Sirico, who plays Paulie Walnuts on the show, grabbed Gannascoli by the arm last season and asked: "You OK with this? You want me to have a talk with (the show's creator) David Chase?"

At 6 to 1 odds, Vito offers great value as the first Soprano character to be whacked during Season 6.
