Allright...can someone explain why the media is after this group so bad. I mean seriously, has there been even ONE example of the these Predators using MYSpace to destroy the youth of America and raping and pillaging the country side. They just made a big deal because a girl put ~hugs~ in her response and she didn't EVEN KNOW HIM!!!! WHAT A LITTLE SATAN HELLBRAT!!!! This is just like the killer bee's, the bird flu, the fire ants, and whatever the media thinks is going to kill us next.

My favorite thing is they want to pass legislation to ban under 16 year olds....It is oh so hard to add 2 extra years to your age when you are registering...that will shut them down for sure :P

It's really not Myspace's fault that pervs are trolling for underage girls and boys through their site. It's more the fault of the parents who don't know what the hell their kids are doing online and who aren't asking questions.

Heh, ironically, brat and I were having this conversation a few days ago. I think there have been 2-3 documented cases up here, and I know that the sherrif's dept. for the county I live in has been going about and speaking to parents in school settings.

The problem is with the parents in my opinion, they aren't monitoring what their kids are doing on the computer, and in return the kids are posting very very personal information about themselves on their myspace/xanga sites. Stuff such as where they live, who they hang out with, what school they go to. And that doesn't even include the teenyboppers who as I understand it think it's cool to post pictures of themselves as scantily clad as possible.

Tis a good thing Stanley found Chick, otherwise he'd probably lose his job from trolling myspace and xanga all day ;)

Myspace does a lot of things to make it hard for pervs to track down underage kids. I don't think they have been neglectful at all. I think its just MSNBC feeling threated by the popularity of myspace.

There have been a few cases of pedophile trolls on MySpace, I saw one story last year of a girl going to meet up with a "photographer" (she was into modeling and such) and the guy ended up raping and killing her. They can't only point this at MySpace though, this same thing happens via AOL and Yahoo chats and stuff. It's just with the growing popularity of MySpace that they are taking a lot of heat for a few instances. Parents should monitor their kids and teach them to use good judgement...
