A potato is the usual companion for a nice steak.
Perhaps a salad?

I need to get home and check my garden to see if anything is ready to be picked and eaten.
If the tomatoes and peppers that I planted yesterday are ready I'll do something with them.
two things stand out here...
1) garden? really?
2) planted yesterday?

it's just been in the ground overnight. They have been growing in their own little containers for a while. It was really sunny today so I'm expecting vegetables when I get home. Baby vegetables. I even fertilized yesterday si that should have given them quite a boost.

the best side dish for steaks:
cucumber slices, diced avocados, diced tomatoes, mix in a big bowl with italian dressing.

Get thinly sliced New York Strip Steak (or flank steak, if you like). Squeeze out the juice of one or two lemons into a container of some type; place the steaks in the container with the lemon juice, rub crushed garlic over the steak. Marinate at least one half hour; more if you want a more tender steak.
Fry up with onions in olive oil. It will need salt. Serve with rice, and either red or black beans on the side.
