I only saw GW play a handful of games this last year.

They were fun to watch. Got up and down the floor. Spread the floor on O. Shot the ball well.

Being a Calhoun guy is a big plus.

Karl is a good name.

Hobbs - Roy Hobbs, Calvin and Hobbs.
Karl, as in Karl Marx?
Seriously, I've had a gut feeling that Hobbs would be a prime candidate and I still haven't wavered from that feeling.

I mentioned him during the season as well but then got to thinking about him just being the guy of the hour. but who knows. maybe he is the right guy

Word is spreading like wildfire now.

Internet Rumors Rule!

I'd like this one to be true.

I would certainly prefer to have hobbs over turgeon. i'm sure he would have more success getting recruits to come to norman than a guy coaching in wichita. he's got a pretty decent pipeline to high school players on the east coast. i remember ks talking about 'nova players being ballers and how you don't get east coast players to come to norman. who knows? but the more i think about turgeon, the less excited i feel about our program.

The only negative I could see with Hobbs is that he is likely next in line for the UCONN job, and depending on how long Calhoun wants to coach, a stay in Norman could be very short.

true. i imagine uconn can't compete with our budget but some guys just don't "fit" at a certain school. hobbs may be an east coast lifer.

now that's clever.

Not clever...stole the idea.

Of course, I was always taught that the real definition of creativity is "forgetting who you stole the idea from."

Just listented to the Sports Animal. The Hobbs name is starting to gain some steam.

I hope it happens. It would be an amazing hire.

Maybe we could pick up that McDonald's All-American kid from Dallas with Hobbs as HC. He's a player's coach, great at developing players' skills, likes to get after it on both sides of the ball, and a great recruiter.

Very exciting.

Hobbs would be great. I thought he was out of the running, that's why I gave Ye Sturgeon my vote, but Hobbs would be my top choice.

there's a 0% - 100% chance that Hobbs may or may not be our new head coach. :twinkies:
