at my previous (and first REAL job) I couldn't even get a review out of them, much less MORE MONEY. So this is exciting. A REAL review, followed by a REAL raise.

I got my review last week. It was a month and a half late.

Retro-pay checks kick ace..

But, really, don't spend it on me.

WTG!

I got butt-poked on mine this year!

Staying away from the board to do good at work DOES NOT payoff...

if I'm not mistaking the average raise is 4% a year.

I don't know if i've gotten 4% in a lifetime

I'm the Site/System Admin for our MES system. We build those huge refridgerator-sized storage systems.

And thanks for the kind words...I didn't mean to take away from your happy day. WTG...for real!

I was wondering what the average was.

I am now at the rate I asked for before taking the job. They met me half way during the negotiation process and told me they'd get me there soon. It took 6 months, but it was worth it. After all, they were REALLY good to me after my wreck (and I had only been there about 6 weeks at that point)

that was me at my last job. SOOO frustrating.

they kept saying they couldn't give me a review "cause we don't know what your actual job description is, you do so much, so we can't really measure it". BULL****

Howzit is one partyin dude.

And congrats on the raise! I had a job in Tulsa for 8 years where I never had 1 performance review. They tended to give raises based on life events (buy a house, get a raise. have a baby, get a raise). The unprofessionalism is largely what made me leave.

Way to go, you!

I am grateful to work at a place that requires managers to do quarterly reviews. We are also given merit based raises each year based on the goals we set with our supervisor. The lowest I have ever gotten is 7%.

My last employer didn't even give me a job description, much less a review. That is until the day that punk *** boss of mine let me go and he told me how worthless I was.

quarterly would be nice. I think ours are just yearly though. I'll take it. Like I said, MUCH better than the last place.

I had my quarterly today. Basically, my boss and I just went over my goals and what else he wanted me to do. It was so laid back, it took all of 5 minutes. So much better than not knowing from one day to the next if you are accomplishing all they want you to do.

also at the last place I worked the production workers (who were really underpaid) would b!tch and b!tch about how it was time for their reviews (they of course kept track, management would try their hardest to let it slip by). so when they began to holler loud enough the manager would FINALLY give them a review with many high scores and good comments. then he would turn around and give a 10 cents/hour raise (it was more of a "**** you, here's your review now shut up). That's $4 a week. So petty.

Yeah my last job, they slipped my raise under the radar. It was like $50 a month or something. I thought accounting had messed up my check.
