ahhh...Wannemacher. I think this is a hillbilly rite of passage to manhood. I've been to many.
It was there that i bough a set of nun chuks (sp?) that got me grounded for a month. (but my sister left my stuff the heck alone).
It was there that I bought a blow gun. RIP countless squirrels, bunnies.
I remember my first Wannemacher's after obtaining my conceal-carry license....ah the memories...
I was there the year the tool accidentally discharged a rifle into the ceiling...
If you've never been or you just want to write a really interesting sociology paper, you should give it a go. I don't know of anywhere else you can buy an authentic WWI rifle, samurai sword, and sign up for the arien nation.

I wonder if my dad is going. He is an exhibitor at the OKC ones all the time with his friend who sells Winchesters.

.
I was at that one, nothing like watching 3k-4k hillbillies hitting the dirt simultaneously and I traded an old Remington 1100 20 ga. for a Browning Gold A500 12 gage semi-auto. Good times!.........:D
General Tibbetts will be there too.

That guy can cuss better than Dean. Years ago, I was at an AF function once where he was the speaker (a formal dinner thingy we call a "dining-in") and the brass were squirming like they had thumbtacks on their seats. OTOH, Tibbets didn't give a flying flip. He dropped f-bombs, the three letter word for Japanese folks, and generally told everyone who disagreed with his Hiroshima mission to GADOCADWI. He was magnificent.

I'd love to get my little brother a autograph of Gen. Tibbets.

Well then go, because he's gotta be 95 and won't be around much longer. I dare you go wear one those kamikaze headband thingies when you ask him.
BTW, his grandson Paul Tibbets III is a B-2 pilot over at Whiteman AFB in Knobnoster MO. Hows that for some Homey trivia?

Jap? please tell me I'm wrong. surely a shortened version of their actual country's name isn't something you can't type on a SO message board.

You can type it alright, but its offensive to Japanese folks and thus not used by people who generally try to avoid racial slurs and stuff.

Didn't realize it was offensive. Now I know. I would have referred to someone as a Jap without thinking twice about it. With no offense intended. I guess racial slur can be in the eye of the beholder.

I thought it would be the other term. I'll give a hint- it's the first name of a popular tv show- the scond name is tuck.

Glad you enjoyed it. It wasn't meant to be funny. I have a good friend who is Japanese. Someone has said..."Is he Samoan"..I said..."No, he's a Jap".
Who knew I was insulting him???

FWIW, "Nip" is the functional equivalent of "Jap." See, "Nippon" is Japanese for Japan, thus "Nip" for short. prolly equally offensive.
For the record, you can call me kraut. I really don't mind.
Hamhock
3/30/2006, 04:41 PM
N***** and Kraut seem to be terms that are meant strictly for insult.
Jap is just a phonetically functional shortened version of their country. That's why I didn't realize it was offensive.

Oh I know.... I need to use the "Smilies" more often but feel they are really gay... Sorry for the lack of a "winky".
You can call me blanket-***, dago, mick, gypsy, etc, who cares.

I think the wife just shot me down. I asked her if she'd have a problem with it:
"No, but you can't buy anything"
WTF is the point, then?

we could fill out our Aryan Brotherhood membership applications.;)
seriously, surely you have something in the gun cabinet you wouldn't mind selling? Then, with the proceeds you could buy a new-to-you gun. That's always fun.

I don't sell guns. Never. I swore a blood oath to myself to not do it again. If someone says "M1A Springfield" within earshot of me, I reflexively punch myself in the face.
I do have 8 East German AK-47 mags I need to get rid of, as well as some FN-FAL parts.
