brother found it last night going through some old stash. not sure if it's Buster or Elvis. I'm thinking Elvis because Buster wore the double bar facemask.

you need to post that Torrence painting, that was greatness.
Maybe sometime this year we can actually hook up and do the Lodgeskin deal.
Done anything new lately?

Elvis was famous for his tiny claw hand of death, so that has to be him.

Thanks for sharing, art dude.

but he never fumbled either. if you'll notice, his right hand is melded to the ball.

is melded a word btw?

Everything spoken on this board is a word.

We are the pipeline.

you can tell it's not Buster because he's not running with a teammates stereo under his arm.

Looks like someone stuffed oldsooner into a uniform. Still, it's better than I could ever do.

Good job on the helmet. I used to try to draw football pictures, but I always had trouble getting the size/shape of the helmet right, and the facemasks are just downright impossible.

We wore whites in the 81 orange bowl.

I couldn't tell you about the 70s Orange Bowls. Where's 04?

yeah, I was thinking in Peacock's last Orange Bowl we wore crimson. the debacle vs. Arky.

so, it is Buster minus his boombox and uzi.

and, it's probably the year his last minute sideline run saved us in Lincoln.

I have some old drawings I did back when I was in about 4th or 5th grade (late 80's) of a profile of each NFL helmet with a pretty simple facemask and their logo. All things considered, I think they're pretty good. But if I would've tried to draw a person in that helmet...it'd've been all downhill from there.

You should have stuck with it. I could have paid a lot of money to get your stuff framed too.

Buster Rhymes: '85 Orange Bowl vs. Washington

We never had "Sooners" or "Oklahoma" on our jerseys when Elvis was here.

wrong. we wore crimson in that one.
plus, I'm thinking this is Buster's earliest year as a Sooner. when he played RB.

But didn't we have "Oklahoma" on our jerseys in the '81 Orange Bowl?

This painting is riddled with inaccuracies! Pay "attention to detal", Bearden!

Unfortunately, a Google search of "Buster Rhymes" is muddied up with some Kenny Rogers wanna-be.

it's gotta be the Orange Bowl of the '81 season. as I stated, the year Buster saved us against Nebraska.
also, I was a much better artist by '85.:)

But we went 7-4-1 in '81 and beat Houston in the Sun Bowl thanks to a brilliant performance by Fred Sims. We beat Nebraska in '80.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL!

it was the '80 season then, and the '81 Orange Bowl. of course I'm sure you remember it all.:D
oh and that was a 43 yarder Buster had in Lincoln.

My guess is that he was working off of a photo of another player from another game and added the "4" to the jersey and even the OB patch at a later date.

Just like that dude that paints statues of NFL players and puts college uni's on them.

The way his eyes are looking out and to his left it reminds me a great deal of a famous shot of Billy Sims.

See?

could be something to that. but I had a different painting of Billy I tore out of a magazine that was a prized possesion. may have been an influence.

I'm quite positive it's the Buster I was going for though.
