Mark Fox of Nevada. Has a very hot wife, I might add. Or Karl Hobbs.

John Wooden the old UCLA coach or John Wooden the porn star?

Maybe nobody wants our job and we will have to do a Baylor/"Stripes" sort of thing: We only play conference games and we coach ourselves.

Rascal Barnes, Rick's evil twin who is a much better coach, but who has a drinking problem...he just can't get enough of that RC Cola.

I'm still trying to think of mine. I might have something tonight.

But I'm intrigued by the Gillespie thing (and Izzo too, I guess). It doesn't surprise me that people are mentioning him because of the success he's had at A&M, but it surprises me that people would mention him in light of one of the biggest criticisms of Sampson: not enough offense. Gillespie's A&M teams have had fewer PPG than Sampsons each year he's been there (2). Granted, this year it was just .1 PPG fewer, but he's certainly not runnin' and gunnin'.

Exactly, but it is defense where we failed this year. 35-34 games are exciting, just as watch geological formations engaging in continental drift is exciting.

John Callipari will not come here since he will never get over the KU hump. KU loves being the only "basketball school" in the Big XII. For the most part, KU puts all of its eggs in one basket. Everybody else in the Big XII would much prefer to be a football power, which is the dominant sport in America outside of Tobacco Road (or the Cancer Highway as it is known to the enlightened). If most say they prefer being a basketball power to a football power, they are lying. Saying that, I enjoy basketball more, but Sooner football is my hardwired passion, me having attended games every decade in which I have been alive, including going to games as an infant the last year of a decade.

I follow you but I'm afraid the visual I'm getting is of Calipari getting Brokebacked by the KU mascot.

Why would we want a coach on the downslide like Tubby? Why would we want a coach that failed miserably at KSU like Altman?

1. Coach Paul Hewitt of Georgia Tech - went to final four may be looking for new challenge

2. Coach John Lucas - His son played at OSU and he knows the conference. His youngest son is a Junior in HS and he could land big recruits

Both these guys would be able to recruit against the big boys!

Just thought of another name: Greg Marshall of Winthrop. Highly-thought of coach among his peers and has taken Winthrop to several NCAA's, including this year, when they came up two points short against Tennessee. Insiders like Seth Davis are always raving about his chances of moving up and taking a big-time job. Maybe this could be it.

I wonder if Joe C. has had a list for a year or two--I think good ADs always do.

Then I wonder if the person he hires is even on our radar--a la Bob.

What about Terry Evans?

UCO lost a game to NAIA Final Four team Oklahoma Baptist earlier this year...in the City of Edmond. They then turned around and lost the very next game to Oklahoma Christian...also within the city of Edmond.

I don't think he's proven himself yet at the college level.
