No way does Joe C. hire a guy in the twilight of his career. His style if to get a young, energetic up and comer.

My wish list in rough order.

1. Tom Izzo .....no chance in hell
2. Roy Williams ....ditto
3. Coach K ..ditto

OK, somewhat realistic choices, several close to home

Mark Few
Belein
Calipari
Gillespie
Drew
Larry Eusatchy, yes that Larry Eustachy

Mark Few turned down Indiana so I highly doubt he'd come to Norman.

Billy Gillespie's my choice right now.
I thought about John Beilein, but I'm not quite sure. He's a good coach, but he caught lightning in a bottle with Pittsnogle, plus having Gansey fall into his lap after the St. Bonaventure fiasco and his son playing for him.
And no, I wouldn't touch Calipari with a 10-foot pole.

How about...a series of guest coaches, Saturday Night Live style. Steve Martin. Alec Baldwin. Eddie Sutton. Eddie the dog from Frazier. Billy Tubbs

NOT Steve Lavin or Matt Doherty. Those two guys took the two best program in the nation and drove them into the ground at the exact same time. I would say take a look at some mid major coach who's teams have been in the NCAAs multiple times the past 3 or 4 years. That shows that their teams play well in tournments.

Calipari and Few both turned down Indiana, so I'd doubt either of them.

Gotta admit, I like the Fraschilla comment. Hadn't thought about him. I wonder if he's thought about getting back into coaching.

Gillespie would be a very good choice, he's managed to get UTEP and Texas A&M to win. Only thing we've got over the Aggies is a bit more tradition, though. Both sets of facilities seem about equal (although their arena might be better) and either way he's gotta compete with the Big 12. That, and we'd still have the whole no offense thing.

I really liked the tempo at which Wisconsin-Milwaukee played, but I'd worry that Jeter is winning with Bruce Pearl's players.
