"OKLAHOMA CITY -- A former University of Oklahoma football player who became a stockbroker is pleading guilty to charges of securities fraud and money laundering.

Adrian Cooper, of Edmond, faces up to 35 years in prison on the two counts.

Cooper admitted in federal court in Oklahoma City that he cheated investors out of about $400,000 by promising to buy stock, then using the money to pay personal living expenses.

Cooper was an OU tight end in the late 1980s and in 1990 and played six seasons in the NFL.

He was a good friend of mine's (OU player in 88, 89, 90) investor. They tried to get me to invest with him too. Too bad.

Remember when he pulled out the towell?

I don't know about a slap on the wrist. I guess it depends on what you define that as. He's not going to do 35 years, but he is going to be locked up.
