Almost every morning, at around 6:15, there is a slow knocking inside my walls. It sounds like someone hitting metal. It only lasts about 3 mins. My guess is it's the pipes in the wall, as my neighbors shower is just on the other side of my bedoom wall.
If i can remember I'll record it and post it here the next time it happens.
Anyone else ever heard this? Is there a way for the complex to fix it?
your screwed if its an apartment. They won't waste their time.

Yeah, I just googled it and apparently water hammer is only a single bang, knock, clunk, or clang and isn't associated with running water. So that doesn't sound like your problem.

Maybe your neighbor has a faulty ballcock.

Yeah it's single bangs about 5-10 seconds apart for a couple of mins.

yeah, its water hammer. those familiar with boiler systems and steam will know exactly what I'm talking about..
I'm not sure the fix on a home plumbing system. for steam and boilers you just drain the condensate from the steam lines and bring it up to hot temps very slow..
