what is this??? a bansai? a bansai - fern?? I have no idea how to take care of it. And it seems to be stru-gg--l--ing :mad:

I think it's a sago palm. mY parents have one, and it is huge now.

hmmm, and it has been in a dry, cooler room lately, but with lots of sunlight. I will try a different spot for it.

if it's fairly warm, put it outside. I've got our Ficus tree out on the deck. he loves it.

We've got two in front of our house, they are ginormous!

Both are about 6-8 feet in diameter, and 4-5 feet tall. Of course, we're in
a warm, humid environment. :D

Yeah, my dad keeps his outside all the time. Only brings is in in the winter, but leaves it right by the window.

Take it out of that pie plate and give it some real dirt ! (and a warm humid environment.)

It's a small Sago Palm.

It usually lives in a warm climate so keep it from getting to cold and make sure it gets a lot of light. I likes light...a lot.

And it's raised up out of the dirt on purpose. It'll pull all the moisture it needs when it needs it. Let it dry out between waterings (don't let it get too dry, though) and it should be fine.

Might wanna feed it if it's been potted for a long time. Treat it just like any other tropical palm.
