as I got my letter of acceptance today to the University of Oklahoma Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum Ph.D program in Science Education. I am one happy puppy, and Boomer Sooner!

Yes, I was inspired to do this by Scooter's thread.:D

Homey, I did the Kaplan course over in Fayetteville, thanks to it I pretty much knocked the top out of the verbal and writing, and did reasonably well on the math, though my brain was still vapor-locking on some of the word problems. I guess that's age, my brain, like the rest of me, isn't quite as flexible and nimble as it once was.

yep, I think those prep courses are generally a good investment, especially for guys like us who aren't disciplined enough to do the do-it-yourself study dealios.

Again, I'm happy for you. There's just something about the unfettered joy of an acceptance letter opened at the mailbox that is hard to beat!

He won't do that. He's too cool. OTOH, my best friend is a hillbilly originally from Northern Maine. He even put <insert name>, PhD on his flippin' checks, and answers the phone at home as Dr.<insert name>. I always flip him sh1t about it but he persists.

Note: All the hillbillies ain't in Okrahoma, they got 'em in Maine too.

Just make him address you as "Esquire" (that's the correct honorific for a lawyer, yes?)
