Nah, only the men's coach gets jumped for losing to a lower seed.

I'd jump Sherri Coale anytime for any reason.

Let's see, a 2 seed losing to a 3 seed in the regional semis isn't QUITE the same as a 4-6 seed routinely getting owned by 13-11 seeds in the opening round...

Bri has forgotten that Logic doesn't rule soonerfans.com...mostly paranoia does for the most part

It has happened 3 times in 12 seasons. 2 in the last 11.

Not as common as you, or others, make it out to be.

Good point. I'll keep that in mind the next time we're getting punked by a commuter school. ;)

Stanley doesn't like women's basketball anyway.

In the regular reason? I'll give you that. In the post season, they got "upset". :D

Stanley loves sweaty men with balls and not hottie little girls that love playing with balls?

Nooo, sticking to the idea. Sherri Coale should be retained...

Now that Shari Coal is a lousy coach and needs to be fired ASAP!!! ;)

So how did the girls lose? Did they box out Paris or something?

I was asleep half-way around the world...Good Sunday Morning by the way...

At least saxet lost!

To sum up, Stanford got off to an incredible start, and we got off to the worst possible start. 17-4 run to open the game, and we could never make that up. We got as close as 6 in the second half, but sloppy play and a career day for Stanford's center did us in.

Oh, and the refs sucked. ;)

Thanks bri!

Tough time to have a bad game...

True, but how many times in the past 12 seasons have both the 2 and 3 seeds survived long enough to play each other? I'm guessing the number is significantly less than 12.

Cherry Kohl can join the "fire Calvin Simpson" club when Paris stops overachieving.

They had a good season, but they should keep getting better.

Good point Walkoff. I kept waiting for Coale to call an early timeout but it didn't happen. You can't get behind 17-4 in women's basketball. It's much harder for them to make up those kind of deficits than men's teams. congrats on a great season though.

2 out of 3 "experts" expected them to be in the finals.

One team came to play, and the other didn't so much. I hope the team uses the replay of that game, and the several astute observations by Stacy and Kara, during the analyses that followed on ESPN2 throughout the rest of the day Saturday.

Not entirely accurate. Stanford came out with the hot hands, and some of those ugly ducklings they threw in the general direction of the hoop had no business going in, but they did. As Sherri alluded to at the half, Stanford won the first five minutes and the Sooners won the rest of the game.. just not by enough to make up that big deficit they started with.

No early time out had me wondering, too, and also it was apparent, at least on TV, that Ashley was having a great day. She got some good minutes, but the Sooners were at their best when Ashley and Courtney were both on the court. A few more minutes of that might have made a difference.

Either way, it was a terrific run by the girls and a lot of fun to watch this season. Can't wait to see what they're able to accomplish next time out. Wonder why Burl Plunkett was never able to generate this much interest? His 6 on 6 high school teams drew bigger crowds than he saw at OU.

This team wasn't expected to be at this level until next year.

For the year, they over achieved.

It's still the same freaking year. How hard is that to understand?
