Our hot tub keeps doing this wierd thing, generally randomly but it never goes more than a couple weeks without doing it: on the LCD screen thingy, it starts flashing three little black dots beneath the temperature reading and goes into some sort of "sleep mode"; and the temp drops down to 89 degrees and stays there until I hit the spa's breaker (simply turning the spa's power off & back on does nothing)

this condition isn't mentioned in the 2-page manual
and I can't seem to find someone at the manufacturer or anywhere else who can explain why it does this. It was made & installed by Superior Spas, those bastards.

Anyone know what might cause that?

I expect you'll get 10 answers to this question.

Not one of them will be remotely close to what you're looking for.

I know :( but it's worth a shot. Nobody else seems to know.

I'll bet it's electrical. You can take it from there.

Did you check the ricktabacken?

Is the manual in Japanese? Maybe your coworkers can help.

Will it fit in the back of your Yukon so you can take it somewhere to get fixed?

Sounds like the temp sensor might be sensing an overload or something and shutting off the heaters, or some of them anyway.

No yukons here. Only Hummers & Escalades, my boy.

I'm so disappointed.

Hmm well it does have 2 heaters so maybe one of them is flaking out. No matter how cold it is outside, it will only drop down to 89 degrees (no lower) so you may be on to something there.

Check all wiring connections from the breaker on in to the tub , you may have a loose rictabaken like BSG says :) but Id go with the wires 1st make sure ALL are tight .

Sorry. Nobody else was keeping to the 1 helpful post in 10 ratio so I had to fall on the sword and take one for the team.

Don't worry, it doesn't happen very often. :)
