Have you tried Mahogany? Duck club used to be good, but they rested too much on their laurels. They are definitely feeling the hurt from flemings and mahogany.

Damn expensive though. I dropped over $200.00 on valentines day dinner there with the wifey.

Tei Kei's is it. I have yet to have a decent Mexican meal in Tulsa. One place was listed in Urban Tulsa as being the best and my fajitas looked like beef jerky. Can't remember what it was called, but it was in a shadier part of town.

I thought Dalesandro's shut down? Interestingly they are opening an "In the Raw" in Vegas. As shocking as it seems that there is a top notch sushi place in middle America, ITR is very well regarded, and apparently two Vegas casinos were bidding on the licensing rights. Our managing partner swears it is the best Sushi anywhere, and he is a life long New Yorker. We have another partner from Pittsburgh and one from Chicago that all say the same thing. I wouldn't personally go that far, but apparently peeps love them some In the Raw. I like Fuji better personally.

Try El Rio Verde, Cancun, or Compadres. Those are places that Mexicans eat, and are quite good. Order a burrito at Cancun and it is about the size of your head and costs about $4. Giggity.

Restaurant: La Juanas
La Juanas is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Las Juanas is just east of Garnett Road on 21st Street in the former Taco Tico building. For more information, call 437-3059.

1. Best Mexican: La Hacienda @ 45th & Peoria or Cafe Ole

2. Best Italian: Delasandro's, with Tucci's and Ti Amo fighting for 2nd.

3. Best overall "chinese"(specify if you want-vietnamese, tai, etc): Not really any good locally owned Chinese, I'd unfortunately have to say PF Chang's

4. Best Steak: Mahogany in a landslide. Molly's is horrifically overrated and I would say that Doe's Eat Place has to have the second best cuts of steak.

5. Best Burger: JJ's Gourmet Burgers @ 6th & Peoria or a Ron's Chili-cheeseburger, it's a toss-up

6. Best Cajun: Meh, Bourbon Street is about it since the Cajun Boilin' Pot closed isn't it?

7. Best Greek: Jim's Never on Sunday

8. Best Indian: succs

9. Best Homestyle: The Savoy at 60th & Sheridan

10. Best Pizza: NY Style is Umberto's, Hideaway for anything else.

Other restaurants of note: Table Ten, The Palace Cafe, The French Hen and a newly remodeled Warren Duck Club.

I can't believe some of you are really trying to push places like Molly's Landing and for some unbeknownst reason, Monte's as a good steak house. Molly's was good back in the day. It was a fun little trip to take for dinner, but it isn't the best steak you can get. Monte's is quite overpriced. Really overpriced compared to what you get at Mahogany.

You f'in hillbillies need to go to Doe's. Great cuts, great atmosphere, fairly priced. Doe's is today's Molly's Landing.

Mexican: Many to choose, but Compadres (145th and 91st), Los Cabos, and Teds are some of the best.

Italian: Napolis (145th and 81st) great new restaurant with Italian speaking waiters and amazing food. Zio's is also great.

People out here in San Diego look at me like I'm crazy when I try to explain Sopapillas to them. They have no clue what they are.
They know what they are down here in San Antonio.

El Chico's in Muskogee knows about white sauce. Thats the craziest stuff I've seen and only place I've seen it.

You know, REAL mexican food. heh

Hamlins sucked it but they did have good chips and white sauce.

I worked at that El-chico's for a couple of years. The white sauce is good, and yes Hamlins had it first but chico's made a couple of changes and I liked theirs better.

It is not queso, only cheese in it is blue cheese...dressing. :D

No, but they did put a sign out front asking for tips on who burned it down. :D

El Charro (Claremore) has the best goat cheese (white sauce), and the Tulsa competition is nowhere near close.

As for Tulsa...

1. Best Mexican: Cancun

2. Best Italian: Dellasandro's

3. Best overall "chinese"(specify if you want-vietnamese, tai, etc): not a fan

4. Best Steak: Used to be Avalon. I'll take Doe's now.

5. Best Burger: eh... a lot of places have a great burger. I guess Ron's.

6. Best Cajun: Bourbon Street, although it's not that great.

7. Best Greek: Jim's

8. Best Indian: n/a

9. Best Homestyle: Green Onion

10. Best Pizza: Mario's

11. Best Downtown: Petroleum Club or Chalkboard

12. Best Dinner Date: Paddy's

God, I could use me some Hamlins right now.
The old place though not the new. The charibs at the new place freak me the hell out.

Nope, it's a dip. I suppose you could put it on anything but it's presented as a dip.

they still have the cave I hope? That was so cool as a kid to get to eat in there

Yep the cave is still there and basically everything is the same inside and out, with the addition of some new paint on the walls. The food is better to me, although I've always loved the enchiladas. And yes the flags are still on the tables too. :D Oh yeah, and it's called Casa Viva now.

Also, I'd like to add Bogey's Hamburgers on 41st and Garnett to the list as a best burger joint nominee. Awesome food and great people!
