8th & 9th grade. Gave it up to pursue my first love, my "mascot career". :D

I'm pretty sure every third poster on this board owns a trombone.

This sums up my musical talent/experience.

6th grade bells/percussion

I quit so I could take PE as an elective. :texan:

I played snare drum in 6th grade. So I may be following GHP to Berlin and fighting him for that spot in the orchestra.

I don't have anything against musicians, but a lot of them on here seem to have really ****-poor attitudes toward their fellow posters. Maybe they take out their real world frustrations of being picked on since childhood by beingasses online.

Or a tuba.

First of all, its not band 'geek', its band 'nerd'. Get it right. ;)

Second, I'm a band nerd. No trombone or tuba for me. My intelligence level called for something a bit above those two. ;) Play the clarinet, I was a drum major for three years, and I've picked up drums, so thats my next conquest.

8th & 9th grade and then I truly discovered that wearing a band uniform does nothing for you in terms of getting hot women.

I simply can't let a glaring error like that go without comment. :D

This probably explains why my moonlight trombone serenades rarely worked. :(

How were you a drum major for three years if you've yet to conquer drums??

I just don't understand.

Everyone knows woodwind players, except for the flute players, are a tad bit more smarter than the low brass players.

But it does get you freaky women who don't mind doing anything with anyone else that is in the band.

Or that was the case at my high school (should have stuck in band for one more year :( )

Drum major means I conducted the band

Conquering the drums means I get to be a super a**hole.

Everyone knows woodwind players are a tad bit too stupid to know they're not nearly as smart than the low brass players.

I agree. ;)

I cant face the fact that woodwind players have superior intelligence.

I agree ;)

It did do that. We went to a band competition in Atlanta, and there was all sorts of fun on the bus. However, the best looking girl in our band would have been about a 5 on the beer equivalent scale.

In professional situations, we only play 1/4 of the time and get paid the same. Who's smarter now? ;)

pwnd!

I knew I was going to lose this one... there arent any other woodwind players here. Oh well. Its not like playing the clarinet is a big passion of mine, or anything.

I'm a little late to this but...

Nope. I'm pretty sure this year is the first year I have had anything to do with bass clef... and it sucks.

Pfff. If I wanted to uber-dork this thread to hell I'd say it's orchestra vs. band smack.

PrideTrombone

band smack. Heh.

Actually, that's more like orchestra smack. There's exactly one professional band that I can think of, excluding the armed services.

EDIT: Dammit. Beaten to it.

I was in a band in college. We wore woolen skirts.
