Have you ever been around someone who thought that they were so much smarter than everyone else in the room that they could just make up some **** as an excuse for why they did something? It's infuriating to me. Here's an example:
The owner of my current project decides that he doesn't want to offer valet service. This is a completely legitimate decision, he has the authority to make it, and no one would batt an eye. Instead of saying "hey, I think that valet service is an unecessary cost, so we're cutting the valet area", he anounces to a group of managers and executives from 3 different companies "You know, I just read a survey that stated that people in Oklahoma are uncomfortable with the idea of valet parking because it's documented that 80% of Oklahomans carry a concealed firearm in their car. Since it makes some patrons uncomfortable, we've decided not to have valet parking at all".
really. so you read a survey that not only stated that 80% of Oklahomans keep firearms in their vehicles, but that there is a negative attitude towards valet because of it.
Of course no one called him out, because the issue is inconsequential and he's a client, but boy does it make me mad.
Not really looking for any response, here. Just needed to vent.
