from vacation that is. Went down to Louisiana for a few days, stayed at a buddy's lakeside cabin, feasted on crawfish and boudin and hit a local casino. Now I come back and it's rainy and cold outside. I thought it was spring. Anyway, glad to be back and I'm ready to play catch-up on this board once again.

Great boudin story:
Went to this meat market in Ville Platte and ordered some boudin. Old Cajun guy wearing a LSU 2003 national champs cap got some and put it in a box.
"That's too much," I said. "Take it down to a couple of pounds."
He then says, "Oh, I didn't know you wanted it hot."
You betcha I wanted some hot boudin. I was getting pretty hungry.
Then he asks me, "You want some cold coke or cold beer to go with that?" knowing full well, to him, I was a foreigner.
"Cold Coke for me," I said, and proceeded to get some.
Then one of the stockboys up front asks me where I'm from. You know, I had that funny accent and I was wearing an OU cap. So I couldn't definitely be from Ville Platte, even though I spent 14 months of my existence there.
Oh, and the boudin was hot and tasty.
