I mentioned this on the SO, but it deserves mention here as well I think.

Today Oklahoma City University defeated Robert Moriss(Ill) 94-92 to advance to the NAIA national title game. On the other side of the bracket, OBU is beating Texas Weslyan 42-35 at the half.

While our men might be out of it, a mens basketball national title might still be in the cards for the state of Oklahoma.

OBU is officially laying an egg in the second half. down 67-56, with 6:54 to go, they haven't scored in the last 3 and a half minutes, giving TWU a 12 unanswered points in a row.

oh, and you can find links to follow the games here:

79-65 with a minute and a half left. I think OBU is officially done.

And thats the ballgame. unseeded TWU advances to the NAIA finals to face 7 seeded OCU, by defeating OBU 83-72.

and for those wondering about the seedings, the tournament is a 32 team tournament, and only the top 16 are given a seeding, which is a 1-16.

our state is always solid in NAIA ball.

I freaking hate OCU and their cheater coach. I really thought we'd get another chance at those scumbags tomorrow night. Oh well.

Terry Evans is at UCO. Ray Harper is the coach at OCU. He came from Kentucky-Wesleyan, a tradional NCAA div 2 power that he left in the toilet after using ineligible players and having to forfeit a bunch of games.

OCU has been a cheater program since the coach before Winn Case (Darrell something) let Eric Manuel come play at OCU.(the kid that got Kentucky on probation and cost Eddie Sutton his job at Kentucky)

OCU is down 36-28 at the half.

Dawoud Drew is carrying the team right now with 14 points and 4 boards....which isn't so good in this case. Their big guy, Lorenzo Gordon is only 1-3 for 2 points and 1 board. They can't seem to get the ball to him, and they aren't getting the boards...

dayum. that was a hell of a ballgame, but OCU came out on the wrong side. they led 65-64 with 6 seconds left when TWU's Ben Hunt took the ball down the court to nail a 3 at the buzzer. TWU beats OCU 67-65 for the title.

No kidding? Wow. Texas Wesleyan had an amazing run. They were the overall 28 seed (out of 32) and defeated the 5, 4, 8, and 7 seeds on the way to the title. Very impressive.
Can't say I'm disappointed that OCU lost. :)

That's Darrell Johnson who left OCU for Baylor and caused a big stink down there. I think a couple of his assistants went to jail even.
