Except it has a side burner, too. I can't wait to try it out.

oh, and you didn't buy a grill, you bought an outdoor gas cooker. :texan:

So today I got home and started up the grill for the first time in months. About 3 minutes before I put the pork chops outside, I looked outside and it's raining. Hard. And the rain is going horizontal because the wind was gusting about 60mph. Luckily, it only lasted about 15 minutes. The chops ended up good, and I finally got to burn some animal flesh outside.

I would have gone for the charcoal side-fire-box type, but I can't use it during burn bans. Plus, with only pg and myself in the house, gas grills heat up faster.

I had the same thing happen to me. I layed some steaks out, this morning, hoping the burn ban was going to be lifted and sure enough it was. Rushed home got the coals going and then the wind started blowing, I kid you not, 50-60 mph. Then came this sideways rain that lasted about 10-15 minutes. After it blew through it got calm and I was able to grill out for the first time in months. It was UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GOOD!!! :D

You mean they heat up slower when there are more people in the house?

Heh. I meant it's goofy to light charcoal, wait half an hour, and only use it to grill two or three burgers .

SAS is waiting for his invitation to visit GHP in Germany. He wants to be the first one GHP invites, so he is starting the sucking up early.

Anybody see Alton Brown's version of a smoker? He does two. One with clay pots, the other with a cardboard box. I'm gonna try it.

I'm about to retire my grill that is similar to yours, it's the 3rd one for me. I use the hell out of em and eventually wear em out (I hardly turn on my stove or oven in the summer). Next purchase will be one of those HUGE stainless steel grills with a rotisserie and everything. I CAN'T WAIT.

It has enameled cast iron grates, indeed. It is also preheating and about to have steaks thrown upon it.

Oh, the steaks were awesome. I just need to perfect my Spidey-sense so that I don't have to cut open the steaks to tell when they're done. First time I grabbed them they were medium rare. And yes, I know technically that's "perfect" - but I like medium, dammit.
