I am related not only to Samuel Gompers but also to Dean Kamen.

I've never met Kamen, but Mom says he's an ick-pray. The kind of guy who would wear jeans to a huge formal wedding.

You people are too serious. I was looking for things like relatives who were thrown into jail, fell into the outhouse, burned down buildings on accident - you know, stuff like that.

Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

One of my distant blood relatives was one of the "higher-ups" in the Alliance during World War II. They say he died in 1945 from a car crash, but I think he was killed because he wanted to re-arm what was left of the German Wiermacht, join them with his American army, and march east on Russia.

My grandfather moved from Oklahoma to get out of paying child support.

He's still an a-hole BTW.

My Dad was a statistician at the Sooners Football games for 25 years and his Dad was to before him. My Dad used to hang out with OU Hall of Fame Basketball coach Bruce Drake who I remember doing card tricks with cards that had Drake Duck pictures on them.Heres a link to his Bio http://www.hoophall.com/halloffamers/Drake.htm

My husband's uncle is the one who proved dolphins use sonar.
He was on a couple of PBS shows dealing with protecting Navy pilots from sharks.
And he wrote a book on teaching your goldfish to play games.

We didn't know until he died that his Doctorate was in Physics - we figured it was Marine Biology. His work was usually classified and he never talked about it. The guys who came to his funeral were a who's who of nuclear, weapon, and marine research. Even I recognized their names.

My dad was the 1st Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper on the scene of the Karen Silkwood accident and wrote the report for it. I've seen all the original documents and photos.
