He was form Ardmore but he owned a Conoco station for 15 years at the Davis I-35 exit. He also dabbled in used cars. He sold one to a local Davis kid. It was a lemon. The kid bugged him repeatedly to give him his money back. He refused. Finally, one day the kid showed up and threatened to whoop his arse of he didn't take the car back, and proceeded to come at him. My cousin shot the unarmed kid dead.

That would have been bad enough, but prolly not murder 1. What he did next was waaaay bad. He had his his then 12 y/o put a pistol in the dead kids hand to make it look like the kid was armed before the cops arrived. That all came to light during the investigation.

What's worse, he hired a bigtime OKC crim defense lawyer, which to the folks in Davis...just made him seem more slimey. A Davis jury gave him life w/out possibility of parole. Personally, I always felt that was too much based on the above facts, but there you have it. Moral of the story: do not try to get one over on hillbillies when the sheriff and and the prospective jury pool consider you an outsider to start with.

What is her story?Sirloin Stockade and Lorenz Family Murders.

She was married to Roger Dale Stafford. She and Roger Dale and her brother (?) locked a bunch of kids working at the Sirloin Stockade on I-240 in a meat locker and killed them. She also pretended to have car trouble and when the Lorenz family pulled over to help, Roger Dale and the brother came out of the bushes and killed them. She went state's evidence, saying it was all Roger Dale, so he got the death penalty and has since been executed. She has 2 consecutive life sentences with no possibility for parole. I think the brother died of natural causes in the pen.

Bah, even then that's not murder 1. It's probably not even murder 2; at worst, I think it's manslaughter, interfering with a crime scene, interfering with an investigation, perjury, and child endangerment/contributing to delinquency of a minor. The jury must have totally rejected his testimony as to the facts to find murder 1. :/ (Of course, by trying to derail the investigation and committing perjury, he gave them cause to...)

Like Homey, I too have an esteemed family member in the hoosegow for life.

This is my cousin Pat (he goes by Morris). He was/is an avowed racist, and got life for shooting a Mexican dude. His story is that the "goddamned Mexican shot first and missed, and without even aiming, I shot him dead in his heart." That is verbatim from a letter he sent my mom. He has a parole hearing in 2008. They better keep his sorry *** locked up.

killed my dad's best friend, Steve Stack, just up the street from our old house. Steve's wife hired him and the agent from the OSBI that caught Darrell knew it and could prove it but the DA didn't prosecute her. The OSBI guy was pretty slick on how he solved it. He told Sally, Steve's(the dead guy) wife that they knew where the murder weapon was and that they were going to get it. She called her brother or attorney I can't remember, he called Darrell and Darrell went and dug the gun up in the woods and took it to his house. They had no clue where the weapon was but knew that anytime they told Sally anything she called her brother or attorney and then that person called Darrell.

He actually shot his exwifes first boyfriend when he left her place one night. The guy was the biggest whoredog at work then gets jealous of his exwifes boyfriend and shoots him point blank. He was a Vietnam Vet I think that screwed him up more than anything!
