Where can you get Smithwick on draft in Norman?

At your house after you have a barrel flown in and tap it. Other than that, you're oughtta luck I'm afraid.

I've never even seen it on tap in Tulsa.:(

Best selection in Norman is at the Library, and they don't have it.

The Gingerman has it in Dallas. Sherlock's in the Rice University section has it. They even have it in Toledo. It's a staple in NY and MA. A great Irish red ale.

There's a decent Irish-owned pub on Memorial. Can't remember the name. Paddy's maybe?

I bet you can find Murphy's red ale on tap pretty easily at most places which feature a decent selection of imported beers on tap. I think its pretty good stuff and compares favorably to Smithwick.

Went there last summer after moving to town. Its not far from where I live. The joint's Guinness was stale. When I commented about it to the barman, he retorted that they just don't sell enough to go thru a keg before it goes bad.

Therefore, I never went back there.

Fortunately, we are blessed with several places in town that easily go through a keg of Guinness in a couple hours:D

I envy you. My wife and I stayed at the Shelbourne for a week.

retired flyboy. I served a tour in southwest asia with some 101st bubbas who got CIB's, but being an ALO and not an infantryman no CIB for me -- which is cool, you guys who travel by leather personnel carrier deserve all the spek this nation can give.

When were you there? I did a second tour with the 2/17 Air Cav 101 ABN in 1970-71

Best bet would be to try TapWorks in Bricktown.

Thanks. I will. I tried Bourbon St. a couple of weeks ago. The place is depressing.

Also, if you haven't been, you should check out Baker St. Pub @ May & Memorial. Pretty good pub food and atmosphere. Decent selection of suds.

I was in southwest asia with the Rakkasans right after 9-11, not southeast asia. Sorry for the confusion.

Not a problem. I occasionally flew with the FAC's out of Camp Eagle. O-1's and 0-2's. I was the fire support coordinator for the squadron. The squadron commander was a very famous guy, LTC Robert Molinelli. He went to become a MG. Sadly he died about ten years ago.

I've been to the Baker Street in the Willowbrook section of Houston. As you probably know Baker Street and Sherlocks are owned by the same outfit. When I'm in Tulsa I stay at the Renaissance. A good bar and no drinking and driving.

Well if you're ever drunk in Tulsa and need a ride to the hotel, peem me. (I won't come get you but I'll keep you online til you sober-up.)

I just drink enough so that I can't find my car. Works for me.
