It's Ladies' Day in Galway and we watched the ponies run
Fifty pounds against the odds and came in six to one

So we drank Catholic whiskey with all our newfound friends

They raised a glass to all of us and we all toasted them
Here's to Michael, Tom and Pat and seven nights in Ireland

Well we kissed all the girls goodbye and gathered in our gear

Finally, she looked up at Tim. "How did it happen, Tim?"

"It was terrible, Brenda. He fell into a vat of Guinness Stout and drowned."

"Oh my, dear Jesus! But you must tell me true, Tim. Did he at least go quickly?"

"Well, no Brenda... no. Fact is, he got out three times to pee."

That's a British wuss drink that dates back to the old occupation. The Brits couldn't handle the strong stouts that were poured in Ire., so they had the bartenders mix the stout with a british ale.

Whew. The %$#@& bagpipes in the street finally stopped. I guess they all went into Mass at St Patrick's Church just down the block.
By my count there are about 6 St Patrick's Day parades in New Orleans and vicinity. The best ones were last weekend; they threw cabbages and potatoes. This weekend the Irish merge with the Italians for St Pat / St Joseph (March 19) parades.
