I'll go with Bookout. The guy has had numerous injuries and busted his rear every game. He was money in the paint. Too bad he didn't get the ball more.

Bookout. Great Player. Great Sooner. FUTURE OLYMPIAN.

Big Red Ron

Everett, he's the best player we've had since Hollis.

Bookout may be the most over rated, go out with a wimper, senior I've ever seen at ou.

It's going to be weird to watch OU play without Kevin Bookout.

He's your Brad Buckman.

I'm not sure why it seems like both of those guys have been around for so long, but for the last 2 years I've been surprised to see Buckman back, thinking he MUST have graduated.

Bookout will be impossible to replace. The guy played his *** off and was a leader. He was a good defender and knew where you should be on defense. And he was a great rebounder.

Well, we're in serious trouble if we can't replace Bookout. I would have liked to see him play a healthy 4 years. Who knows what he could have done? But still, serious trouble if he's irreplaceable.

There's not too many guys out there that are 6-8 270 that are great rebounders like he was. We will have 3 bigmen on campus next year. Griffin is 6-6 really. He's a good athlete though. Longar is 7-0 and has skills. But still has a long ways to go to be even decent. Mayfield isn't ready. Clark won't qualify more than likely. Nate Carter could play some as a 4. But we need a lot more then just that though. If we get Arthur or the JUCO guy that will really help.

Taylor is taller than Book. It's Book that is closer to 6'7 than 6'8. I've heard more than once that Longer is going to transfer and Griffen may too.

FYI - Carter is 6'5 to 6'6 and Griffen is quite a bit taller than him.

The NCAA sanctions are going to be what determines how many players we have on campus next year.

okay, can they only have a certain amount of bball players or scholly players?
Cuz if its players on the team I know of two I'd ask to step aside if that will affect next seasons numbers.

well to be fair, Bookout's career is more of a 'what could have been' in terms of his bad luck with injuries over his career.

I'd also give my nod to Everett, he did pretty much everything the coaching staff asked of him.

It'd certainly be a bit weird if our only returning post players both decide to xfer. If anyone transfers, I'd guess Walker to a D2 team where he'd start for a year.

Longar and Griffen will both get major PT next year.

Problem is, who wants to play on a team with no real future? If we get a one year post season ban or another couple of schollies yanked...

There's a better chance of Bud Selig resigning then there is of OU getting a postseason ban.

I will miss TE bringing the ball up with one hand and holding onto his shorts so they don't fall off with the other. Now that takes talent :eddie:

I will miss Bookout the most. No question.

Sidenotes:
Griffin will be a go-to player next year.
If Longar Squared sees significant PT next year, we are seriously doomed!

Unless we somehow get Arther and Clark and the JUCO on campus we will have to play Longar. We are all ready out of scholorships and will AT A MINIMUM lose more in April.

NickZeppelin
3/18/2006, 11:29 AM
We'll lose more for the next class. It won't effect this class. But I think we could see Walker transfer and Clark probably won't qualify so that gives us a shot at getting Arthur or the JUCO guy but I there's now way we can get all 3 unless someone else transfers.
