Sounds like someone wedged into a spot they shouldn't have.

Wreck on I-44 backs up rush-hour traffic

The Oklahoman

An accident on Interstate 44 has traffic backed up to Interstate 40 this morning. An Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokeswoman said a vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer just south of NW 36. Two tractor-trailers and two other vehicles were involved in the 8 a.m. wreck, the patrol reported.
Two women were taken to local hospitals, authorities said. The truck drivers were not injured.
All northbound lanes of I-44 could be closed for several hours with traffic being diverted onto NW 23, authorities said.

I know some semi drivers intimidate, but most are smart enough not to do that unless some tard is darting into the gap leaving little space.

I heard this on the radio on my way to work and I had two girls call in late to work because of it. I hope everyone is OK.

i'm not disagreeing with you, just stating what the news said.

you should never pull back over in front of a semi until you can see his entire cab in your rear view mirror. It also takes them twice as long to stop as you! Defensive driving 101

that's why i do 100 to get away from them ;)

Actually I saw a test somewhere that a lightly loaded semi can actually stop faster than some big SUVs just from having more brakes. Now, a fully-loaded semi is a different story.

That wreck backed up traffic from NW 36thish to to SW 44th this morning.

Very slow morning drive.

you could be right GHP.
I'm just going by what I was taught in my course. But I can see how what you are saying could be correct.. they still scare the crap outta me.
