nope. The story behind this post is I was listening to Yahoo radio and this song came on that I am sure you all know. I always like clicking on the artist biography link, because a lot of times it is pretty interesting to find out the story about groups that you have barely ever heard of. Yahoo does a good job because they usually have a bio for even the most obscure one-hit wonder artists.
So I clicked on the link and this was the updated photo for this particular artist.

OK, final hint. Here is the annoying song that I have in my head, and that started this whole stupid post:P
I took a backseat a backhander
I took her back to the room, better get back to the basics for you (Oh yeah)
You gotta conscience, a compassion, you got a way with the word
You got a heart full of complacency too (but its not like that)
I don't have a purpose omission, I'm empty by definition
I got a lack girl that you'd love to be (Ooh)
You wanna a diva a deduction, you wanna do what they do
You wanna do a damage you can undo (up until the day)
Apart from everyone
Away from your life
A part of me belongs
Apart from all of the hurt above
Chorus:
I got a perfect way to make a new proposition
I got a perfect way to make a justification
I got a perfect way to make a ceratin a maybe
I got a perfect way to make the girls go crazy
I took a day job, amendment
I took a liking to you
I took a page out of my rulebook for you
You want a message, a confession
You wanna martyr me too
You want a margin of error for two
(But it's not like that)
Maybe tomorrow, the next letter
Or when the weather gets better
I gotta wait here for your moon to turn blue
I made an offer, an exception
I made a sense out of you
You took a good look at your book and I knew
(Up until the day)
In times of tenderness, and tears baby so true
Until such time as I can understand the things you do
CHORUS
Want to forgive you for the things that you do
Wanna forget how to remember with you
Maybe tomorrow, the next letter
Or when the weather gets better
I gotta wait here for your moon to turn blue
Apart from everyone
Away from your life
A part of me belongs
Apart from all of the hurt above

Grimey,
If you're gonna start this kind of thread, how about doing it about somebody that normal, heterosexual, tax-paying citizens who don't live in indie bars or on MTV might know about.
I was doing a trivia deal a year or two ago and this whacked-out, purple-haired indie chick gave "extremely popular female singer everyone knows" as a clue. Nobody had a clue. She finally tells us this broad's name - and nobody still had a clue.
And I've never seen/heard of/heard this group or this song.

you may have never heard of the band, but I would bet if you heard the song, you would have heard it before. It was such a fairy-sounding song, by a group of British prettyboys in the 80's. Then I saw the picture of the guy trying to look all gangsta, and it carcked me up.

the band isn't very well known, just that song. It was one of those one-hit wonders. Like I said earlier, it was more just humourous to me that the guy was trying to look all gangsta when he is only known for a fairy-sounding song.

If you were actually alive back then, and a regular music fan with considerable knowledge of the industry, I can promise you that Green Gartside and Scritti Politti were NOT high on the international music radar. They were a fringe component of the new romantic movement out of England and "Perfect Way" was a left-field favorite of the new wave clubs. It's a small wonder that anybody remembers them.

I didn't know Kevin Smith was in an 80's band before he made Clerks.
Some things take forever,
But with building bricks of trust and love,
Mountains can be moved
Love come, down upon us 'till you flow like water,
Burning, with the hope of insight,
Feathered, look they're covered with a bright elation,
Stolen, in the sight of love,
Chorus: We are, we are, we are but your children, finding our way
Around indecision, we are, we are, we are ever helpless,
Take us forever, a whisper to a scream
Birds Fly, in the eye of the faithless daughter,
Broken, at the bitter end,
Wasted, sacrifice for a new nirvana,
Night time, send us on our way
Repeat Chorus
A whisper to a scream
Repeat Chorus

easy, Thompson Twins
them I have never heard of... what was their song?
Some things take forever,
But with building bricks of trust and love,
Mountains can be moved
Love come, down upon us 'till you flow like water,
Burning, with the hope of insight,
Feathered, look they're covered with a bright elation,
Stolen, in the sight of love,
Chorus: We are, we are, we are but your children, finding our way
Around indecision, we are, we are, we are ever helpless,
Take us forever, a whisper to a scream
Birds Fly, in the eye of the faithless daughter,
Broken, at the bitter end,
Wasted, sacrifice for a new nirvana,
Night time, send us on our way
Repeat Chorus
A whisper to a scream
Repeat Chorus

Whisper to a scream wasn't nearly as bad as Scritti.

OK, the song I was referring to back from 1969 was "Cool Aid" by Paul Humphrey and his Orchestra. Does that ring a bell Dean?
