It is a cool looking thing.

But this begs the question...is this furry lobster related to the bearded clam?

Since it was just now discovered, there must be plenty of them to eat.

Thankfully I am young enough to have never run across a "bearded" clam, a few Hitler-staches, yes, but never a full beard.

It's cold in the deep oceans, idiot.

It looks so cuddly. :mack:
Dropping some science, and mixing it with my own phobias:

Crabs, as you may be aware, are quite closely related to spiders. (Indeed, there are many places where spiders are eaten roasted... for the meat, which reportedly tastes just like... crab meat). As such, I have decided that all crustaceans are bugs. Bugs of the Sea, if you will.</Jessica Simpson>

So, trust me, I won't be getting all cuddly with this sucker, furry, bearded, or whatever you want to call it. Eat it? sure. Pet it? not so much.

Your tongue should really be outside of your cheek for that.

Except that spiders aren't bugs.

They're all arthropods, and crustaceans are closer to insects than arachnids. As to the "fur" my guess would be some sort of possibly tactile sensory bristles.

we all know gdc has a maniacal hatred of texas, what we don't know is how to tie this lobster back to vag, fighting only gets in the way of the ultimate goal.

Dude, if it's got more than 4 legs, it's a ****ing bug. May not be an insect but it's damn sure a bug.

see, American Heritage Dictionary, New College Edition, 2nd definition. "Broadly, any insect or similar organism".

Bug.

(although according to this same dictionary, "insect" could also describe a spider. Gotta love the AHD).

bearded clams that have bugs are damaged goods.

Taxonomically true bugs are in the insect order Hemiptera, like squash bugs.

:)Well, it said that the Titanic is 13,000 feet deep, but I don't think anyone is able to live outside a special crush-proof submersible. Consequently, I doubt there is any future in furry lobster as a food source for the masses.:P
