Sounds like we might be getting some thunderstorms this afternoon; some of them severe with the possibility of tornadic activity.

Yay for the rain, I could do without the tornadoes though.

yep, the air has that feel to it, like we're about to get an a5swhoopin' from the sky.

This should be just enough rain to wash away the lawn fertilizer/crab grass preventer I put down over the weekend.

I'd take a tornado at this point if it meant rain.

I bet that learned you to get some tires up there didn't it?

It wasn't even a 'nador.
Just a downdraft from a front.
Scared my wife to death as she was there alone.

If you live in Tulsa you're pretty safe from tornadoes. unless you live out south, north or near Catoosa.
same goes for where I used to live but now I'm near Keystone Lake and that may not be good when tracking the twister things.

You know it's bad when we're watching the news and you hear 'very good chance of severe weather' and you're happy simply because you know it means it'll prolly rain.

They're always bearing down thru there, it seems.
There's a huge radar just 4 miles from the house...
I'm moving next year.

Why?

They generally track to the northeast of Tulsa.

Why?
name the last one that actually hit town?

The monster from '99 was trecking that way but fizzled out.

They generally track to the northeast of Tulsa.

But there's no reason for them to not track across Tulsa.

No reason, but they just don't.
It might have something to do with ORU and Rhema. :)
I remember the one that hit Tulsa in '74 though.
That recent Catoosa one was a killer and a near miss.

People in OKC used to say that too. Even thought the biggest and baddest hit Moore, the rest of the city has seen more than enough in the last 6-7 years.

I don't think we got as much rain as we were supposed to (surprise!) and I don't think it stormed last night either.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

we got a little and it still may be spitting. It's still so dry. Yesterday cop pulls over guy on highway with a trailor coming unhitched. Before he gets stopped, trailor unhitches and causes sparks which fly into grass. 10,500 acres later they get the fire out.

Claremore is 5 miles away.
Inola is 7 miles away.
Catoosa is about 9 as the crows fly.

I shop in Claremore; home of 76 trains a day.

that is so true about Calremore. everytime I golf there it's like a train concert.I remember reading it in the paper about ten years ago.
At that time Claremore was averaging 76 trains a day.
There are two railroad lines that intersect there.
It would be a huge place if it weren't for the trains eating up all the real estate.
