Charlotte could have been up 2 over #6 GW with 5 seconds left, but our own Deangelo Alexander missed a free throw that was the difference in the game.

If by "our own" you mean Midwest City then I agree

This isn't Bombersfans.com though ;)

Well, to be fair DeAngleo also hit 6 3s and had 32 points, so it's debatable about whether he really cost Charlotte the game.

What, I thought he wasn't suppose to be much of a scorer.

Really? Then it sounds like to me they wouldn't have been in that game without him.

he said he transferred because he wants to make the nba to take care of his daughter and Ou didnt provide him the best chance to do that, but he left on good terms. I saw a piece about him on tv the other day

That hurts....

What DeAngelo says and what really happened are two different things.

I'm glad he doesn't bear any ill will towards the school, but be assured-there's almost no chance that he would have been playing for OU last year regardless.

It's also debatable about whether DeAngelo would be able to get open against Big 12 defenses like he does in the A-10.

Come on man- are you saying he couldn't of beat out Godbold? Alexander started as a True Freshman didn't he?

I seemed to remember him scoring in the big 12 as a freshman.

To be honest, I never saw much out of Alexander. He may have had the "potential" but he was hurt for most of his playing days in Norman. He didn't handle the ball too well or penetrate much. Looks like he's doing well in Charlotte. He's a good kid but NBA? Don't think so.

No, that's not what I said at all. Actually, had DeAngelo not transferred I sincerely doubt that Godbold would have gotten a scholarship offer.

I stand by the statement that Alexander would not have played last year had he not transferred.

But speaking of him scoring in the Big 12-he was certainly good enough to play in the Big 12. However, the level of competition he faces in the A-10 isn't the same.

he probably got better from one year to the next. I'm sure that would have happened at OU too. ;)

A10 is down worse than the Big 12, I didn't get to see him as much in Norman. I know we were high on him- and didn't he tear it up in the world games or something- that is about all the clips I got out east- until he put up 32 on GWU last night.

Anyway- let's kick the shiate out of the horns today- I hope Buckman comes to tears.

DeAngelo has the chance to score more than 30 points in Charlotte... something he might not do this year in Norman with Taj and Terrell sharing the ball. I'd say that the NBA scouts will look at HIS stats, not how many times his team was on tv.
