Got these from the ISU site. The pigtail matches are done, and we got our a$$es kicked.

Comparin's back, but he lost. So did Rowe, King, and Dyer. Only Roberts won in the pigtails.

Sam is in the finals, and Teyon pinned his semi's opponent. Still have four more who can make the finals, but Roberts pulls Askren next.

Stornolio loses to OSU's Esposito 12-8. It was 9-8 after two periods, so it was pretty close.

OU beats Nebraska for second place thanks to Askren beating Klein, unless Padden pins Rosholt.

Nate Gallick, ISUmust be a total bad ***.

MiccoMacey
3/5/2006, 10:39 AM
Gallick is a stud. He's beaten Ware like 8 or 9 times now. The only time Ware has beaten him was in the NCAA finals last year.

I'm glad Dyer got in. I was really disappointed for him at the Big XII's. I hope he can pull off something and get us some points at the NCAA's.

King being first alternate is good. I hate to wish injury on anyone, but if someone does get hurt before nationals, I'm glad he'll get to go.

Just shows how deep the Big 12 is that Jarrod King and Chris Oliver are only alternates at the national tourney but both in the top 20 in most publications at their weight classes.

Jack should want to teach our wrestlers that stalling isn't the key to victory. :(

Weight classes have changed since the inception of the Big 12.

I was thinking about that, but how do you fit Vering, Rosholt, Sanderson, and Kading into three weights?

Or Lightner, Guerrero, Thompson and Ware into three weights?

Just curious.

Remember this is Stickross Mountain, after all. I'm getting the phone line for my Tivo tomorrow morning, so hopefully I can figure it out in time to get the matches this weekend. If so we're all in business, and I will hook you guys up.
It's just nice to see a wrestling thread go two pages!

Remember this is Stickross Mountain. The "telephone line" is really two fruit cocktail cans and some yarn which strings across from house to house.

:D

And yes, two pages of wrestling...who'd a thunk it from OU fans?

stonecoldsoonerfan
3/10/2006, 07:34 AM
the finals will almost certainly be televised by espn or the deuce. it's the semi's and whatever previous matches that will be hard to get. if someone can get those for me, i'd be happy to trade with you. hollar if you can.

Nice way to bring him down for three nearfall.

Too bad Esposito still has his number.

Maybe one day...

And maybe that one day will be March 18th in the NCAA finals...

esposito is simply better on his feet than storniolo is, plain and simple. that's how he beat him.

i'm hoping with a little luck that we finish in the top 5 again. anyone know how our recruiting class is looking? redshirts coming back next year?

We lose Ware, Hagar, and Roberts.

As far as recruiting, we gain Shelton from OSU, Shelton from El Reno, and Young from Shawnee (my dad swears he is a stud and is sorry OSU missed out on him).
