Seven counts of assault to commit great bodily injury, $350,000 bail, and over 13 years of jail time if convicted. Jeeze, what a winner!

Not that I'm a fan of either of these two but what does Bill Callahan have to do with Phillips' or any of his screwball peccadilloes?

I would think it would possibly reflect more on the gubernatorial candidacy of Tom Osborn than it would Bill Callahan.

What's wrong with what he did?? I mean, who hasn't assaulted kids with an automobile before?

At the end of the day Tom Osborn's thugs have proven to be a great deal worse than Barry Switzer's. Add the fact that Barry owned Tom and it just amazes me that Tom's reputation is so pristine.

Vick and Clarret have their work cut out for them. It takes a good measure of thuggery to get kicked out of the NFL.

Nebulon's thug tradition is older and more storied. Johnny Rodgers was robbing gas stations under Bob Devaney well before any of our thugs took to the field under Switzer. We didn't have our first use of a firearm until 1983, when Buster Rhymes opened fire out of Bud Wilkinson dorm after being hit with a snow ball.

Soci*list):meat:

I'm shocked you guys are just now getting to this. L.P. pulled this last summer. Now if California will just lock him up where he won't be menance to society. The thing to remember is if you let a Methodist run your football program you get thugs, now we have a Irish Catholic in charge again and we are racking up the DUI's. Either way L.P. won't affect the gov race because there is enough stuff to get everyone riled up with out bringing football into it.

It seems to me that LP could benefit from a prescription of oh, say, Lexipro.

"Hi. I am Lawrence Phillips. When I'm not jacking my girlfriend down a flight of stairs or dominating highschool kids in streetball, I'm arguing with those kids that the blood was already there, or I am pimp slapping my bitches. I don't need to tell you that with my chemical imbalance, that can lead to a lot of stress. That's when I reach for Lexipro. Lexipro gives me the cool nerves and steady hand I need to run down those suckas that made a punk call. Eat the gold plated grill of my 98 oldsmobile bitches. Thanks Lexipro!"

The friendly media that Lincoln had helped to contribute to "Saint" Tom's reputation. A friendly media covers us lots of warts, anyone else remember Mike Reilly getting hauled back to the Bud by Norman PD most nights?

At the time that Switzer was fired the majority of the OKC TV media was owned by large out of state media companies (KOCO-Gannett/KFOR-New York Times) which is maybe one of the reasons why it was covered with such fervor.

LP really needs about 20 "quality" years with Ben Dover.

Clarett Fires Attorneys Two Weeks Before Trial

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two weeks before his trial on aggravated burglary and weapons charges, former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett does not have an attorney.

In a single-paragraph letter Clarett wrote on July 20, he said he fired attorneys William Settina and Robert Krapenc. They filed a motion Monday saying they do not wish to continue as Clarett's lawyers, saying he has not paid their fees and is not cooperating in his own defense.

Court documents do not list any other attorney for Clarett.

Common Pleas Judge David S. Fais scheduled a hearing for Thursday morning to address the situation.

Clarett, 22, turned himself in on Jan. 2 to face charges of flashing a gun and robbing two people in an alley behind a bar.

As a freshman, Clarett scored the winning touchdown in the second overtime to lead Ohio State to the 2002 national championship, the school's first since 1968. But that was the last game he played for the Buckeyes.

He sat out the 2003 season after being charged with misdemeanor falsification on a police report. After dropping out of school, he sued to be included in the 2004 NFL draft and lost in court.

A surprise third-round pick in the 2005 draft, he was cut by the Denver Broncos during the preseason.

He has been free on a recognizance bond since his indictment on Feb. 10. He is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, four counts of robbery and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

I was there, part of the mob throwing snow balls screaming "Warriors, come out to play!" at the jock dorms until we heard BRATADATADAT. OUPD had left us alone after we rocked his car. Nothing like automatic weapon fire to control a scene.
